It's 91 today with a blustry wind. So much fun watching the humming birds trying to land on the swinning feeders. Even though it's windy, it's still hot out there if you stay out too long. I just was outside for a while and came in HOT. Riich went out to give the dog a bath and put womme weed eater down and he felt wet when he finaly finally came in. Going out to dinner with the group tonite - a new place where you can buy wine or craft beers and snack food, or you can bring your own meal. We are getting a large pizza to share with Richie's brother. This certainly will be a different set up. Glad it's a bit cooler where you are Cherly. Have a good rest of yur day - smile and be happy. Hugs, Wendy
Welcome to Texas! I wonder how many people moved here, paid way too much for a house, and have nowhere else to go are loving our 109° temperatures with no rain in the near future. I read stories on NextDoor Neighbor all the time about moving companies holding their belongings for more money$$$.
If you live here, I want to know what is for breakfast and what time it is usually ready. Oh, and let me know the address too.
Maybe later in the day, we could swing out over the waves. Now that looks like a lot of fun. Have you ever been in one of those great big swings?
And when the moon comes up, I would love to take a stroll on the beach. That is, unless the mosquitos are as bad there as they are in Texas.
Or we could just sail around in the warm breeze far away from mosquitos. Doesn't that look like fun? Now, back to reality... we start the day in Texas at 82° and at 5:30 in the afternoon in Texas, it is 107°. My garage started at 90° today and was as high as 103° yesterday. Welcome to Texas! Cheryl, so glad you have cooler temperatures and hope we get a break today.
Dental appointment went well, but I need to go back to get some work done which won't be until the end of Sept. After our cleaning, we went to get something to eat. I've always wanted to get some seafood at a place we pass called Frog Island. It was so good - I had scallops, shrimp and a crab cake. Honey only eats fried shrimp. They certainly give you a lot of food for the money. A bit pricy as it's on the way to the Outer Banks in NC. I came home feeling like the picture below. Was 91 today, tomorrow 94. Hope you are keeping cool and enjoying the day. Hugs, Wendy
Yesterday I put my knee knockers on and got all ready to run errands in this heat! Bank, Herb Mart, Pack & Post, Rosa's taco Tuesday. You know the usual stuff.
I showered and washed my hair. Do you like my new "do" style? Sure is hard work getting ready to leave the house.
I wasn't even going to work but put on some mascara. Also put on my rings, earrings, and necklace along with my smile of course.
We were only gone a couple of hours and boy, does that heat take a toll on my hair! It was even hard to breathe by the time we got home. All the jewelry came off and after taco salad my tummy was full. Then it was time to read my book.
Even Hubby decided it was too hot to start a project after eating his taco salad and decided to take a nap! Now that Tuesday is over, we have to get dressed again today for the Glaucoma doctor.
Was very hot yesterday due to heatwave. 99 degrees in England and we don't have air conditioning in the homes over here. Much cooler today around 64 degrees.
Hello friend. Yes I'm staying inside out of the heat - 93 today feels like 100. Will water the plants and give fresh water tothe birds and change my garden flag. Other than runing to my care and quicly cooling it off so I can go to a doctor approintment this afternoonm I'll be inside in the AC. It's way too hot for you to be out in theheat Cheryl so stay inside. Al the birds are in the trees to keep shaded! Keep those cukes and tomatoes watered in this heat and you should have soem soon! Hugs, Wendy
I sure hope you can find a shady spot today because our hot sun can burn the skin quickly here. We are trying to get our watering done in the early morning before 8 am or late night after 7 pm. We set a record of 109 yesterday and today is supposed to be our hottest day. Fires near Glen Rose are extremely hot and causing evacuations. Prayers please for them.
We also try to keep enough water in all the bird baths that are up high or on the ground full for all the animals to get a drink or take a bath.
It is so much fun to watch them make a splash. They don't stay long and then you have to be ready to refill their watering hole.
After all, there are others that might need a drink in this hot weather too. It is always nice to share! SMILE! You might just be on candid camera.
Happy Monday afternoon Cheryl. It's only 87 here but it feels a lot warmer and I'm sure it is. Sure glad it's not as hot as your place. Been busy - finally finished vacuuming, folded and hung up the laundry from the dryer, cleaned out the fridge and got food ready for dinner. Corn on the cob, Jersey tomaotes that Richie's brother brought back from his trip up North and Salisbury steaks. Glad you are staying inside and not out in the heat. I only went out to refresh the bird bath and water the plants. Gonna be hotter as the week goes on. No plans except maybe get a pedicure. Have a great rest of the evening. Hugs, Wendy
Gosh I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Did you have a party or go to one? Well, I am off to water as we have 3 days of 107° or higher.
The grass is no longer green. It is the color of straw and feels like that when you walk on it too. So no matter how high the water bill is going to be, I must put the sprinkler on in areas with no shade.
I feel so sorry for the birds and bunnies and all of God's creatures. So I have to keep bird baths filled with water and bird seed in the feeders. Hope you can find a cool spot under the trees or in the air conditioner.
Hey there, did you know it was Sunday and the weekend is almost over?
Are you talking to us? We are just watching to see what is happening around us and what all the commotion is about.
I'm still trying to get rid of unwanted company from the party the other night. That's what is happening here.
And I am just laying around trying to recover from the party and waiting for cooler weather. I hope I will find some energy soon. Now they are saying we will be 107-109 and then drop back to 104° for a few days.
I am waiting for rain! Has anybody seen any? We had 5 minutes of a light sprinkle and it went east of us. Please send some much needed downpours our way! Don't forget to invite us to the next party too.
