Here we are on another Friday getting ready for the weekend. Hubby has been pulling weeds in the front flower bed for 3 days and is hopefully half way. It got way out of hand with no rain to soften up the dirt for 3 months.
This weekend don't forget to be in one of those 3 places to each and every person you are around. Love is what this life is all about.
We all need a nudge of love and encouragement. A big smile is the way to start so share your smile everyday.
Try to treat others the way you want to be treated. There sure needs to be more of that in this crazy world right now.
The fun isn't over yet. Every day is a new adventure. Is there anything exciting going on in your world this Thursday?
Never grow up, never give up! Always look for the fun in whatever you are doing. Just look at those smiles... well, except for the chickens maybe. Hope you are laughing!
Now, on a more serious note. Does anyone have any extra "3X Tall" shirts? Yes, my grandson who just turned 16 years old is 6'5" tall and he lifts weights. His mom is right at 6'. He just got new boots that were on sale, probably because no one else needed that size.
My bestie since 3rd grade, shared news about her grandson, who is part of my family. He is a sophomore in High School and just made the varsity football team. He does all sports, swimming, cross country running, basketball, etc. So all this comes natural to him and we are all so very proud.
OK, this Gram is done bragging for a bit. Tell me what you are most proud of today! Blessings & Hugs from me to you!
Oh, how true is that! The 2" total of rain we got and the drop in temperatures with cloud coverage has sure made a difference in plants putting out blooms and new growth.
The passion vine was wilted every day but now look at the blooms which have a strong scent. Amazing when you walk past and get a smell.
The colors in the sky at sunrise are another noticeable difference as fall approaches. The clouds in this picture are one of my favorite patterns. I have lots of pictures like this over the years.
Of course, I do enjoy the evening pictures too with all the colors of the clouds. What is your favorite time of day? Yesterday after taking a panoramic picture, two hummingbirds that I had seen playing in and around the Vitex tree, went up about the roofline and hoovered in mid air for a minute. As I was about to get my iPhone up to video them, they dive bombed me. What was your day like?
There are just some things we can’t fix; we can’t change; we can’t manage. But we sure do try, don’t we?! We wrestle against our situations when God wants us to rest in Him. Rest is what you experience when you stop trying to fix your problem and fix your eyes on God instead.
Oh, Lord, that is what we need. Help us to fix our eyes on You and trust You to fix any problem we face. May Your will be done on earth, in our lives, as it is in heaven
For months we have watched and waited for rain to come our way. It would get so close to us and just dissipate. Now it was our turn and we were singing praises.
Here, hold this please while I just touch it, feel it, and maybe even play in it. I just kept going outside to watch it because I couldn't believe it was really raining.
Do a little dance! And shake your booty!
We ended up with 2" over a 2 day period which was just enough at just the right rate. Sun came out late in the day. Yes, lots of areas got way too much rain way too fast and had flooding areas. But crazy people would get out, check to see how deep and still drive into it and then get stranded and rescued. The cooler temperatures are wonderful.
They say the best way to cure a drought is a flood. Areas around DFW have proven that statement true. The 8" in east Dallas all came in 3 hours. Those totals were before 8 am this morning. More rain is happening now.
It is NEVER fun driving in DFW but when the "canyon" has over 5' of water in it and people drive into that water and have to be rescued, it can cause delays of about 4 hours.
We have had a gentle rain for over 12 hours now and with our shower yesterday, we have about 1-1/2" of rain now. No rain standing but enough that weeds can be pulled. BLESSED beyond measure!
And yes, with cooler temperatures, more time to sit outside and enjoy watching the hummingbirds go from flower to flower in the Turks Cap. Juanita, you are such a blessing each day with your graphics. I love sharing them with others.
Maybe even time to finish my book and start another one as I count my blessings. You are one of those blessings that I am counting today!
