Paw Prints - Helping a Friend
Posted On 06/03/2008 19:15:51 by lemonhead54

This is a poem that was written by a lady I used to dog sit for. She's made it to the semi-finals. She has worked at several shelters over the years and most recently owned and operated her own boarding kennel for several years. She is now retired and has written a book titled "Will You Be There In Time?" She donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her book to local animal shelters. Her website is: http://www.joannespetadvice.com  I hope you will all go for a visit. If you decide to purchase her book, let her know that Cheryl Lambert sent you. Thank you, Lemonhead54

Paw Prints
My friends,
You are too young to die!
What does mankind think of
When breeding puppies and kittens?
Mankind claims to love you,
Yet here you are in my arms,
Being readied to meet your creator.
I find myself kneeling before you,
With a fatal substance in my hand.
I love you enough to let you go,
Though my tears will fall,
I know one day we will meet again.
Until then my friends,
I will hold you in my heart
And I will watch
For your paw prints in the sky.
