Yes, there are some days that I wish I still drank. Today I would really like a drink.
Our wind is sustained at 28 mph with gusts from 40-50 mph. So even walking to the mailbox is dangerous. Live limbs are breaking and falling from trees.
We had to pick up something in Rockwall this morning and I thought the car door was going to snap my legs off when I got my feet on the ground. And yes, I was hanging on to the door handle as a gust threatened to blow me away.
So I am going back to cooking up some dogs... no, no... cooking up something for the dogs. And then...
I think I will relax for a while. Maybe read a good book from my Kindle in a tub of warm (not too hot) water. What about you?
Boy its windy here. I made the mistake of traveling to Walmart this morning. Its a 30 minute drive and the wind was howling out of the north and made it hard to drive, but I made it there and got my groceries and it wasn't so bad coming back home. But the wind is still with it and its cloudy and 61 out. So with the wind going as it is, its rather chilly. And tomorrow is goiong to be chilly and windy as well and we are traveling a4 hour trip tomorrow. We are going to go and see our oldest daughter and her 2 grandsons. I can't wait to see them as its been some time since we have been there. So after today I won't be back on here until Monday sometime. So enjoy the rest of your weekend and your weekend my friend. Stay warm and take care. Cheryl
We always try to add things to the grocery list before they become urgent... but, how can we be out of milk? Well, I had to meet the 2 ladies at work this morning for breakfast so milk is now back in our house.
But guess what... there was a reason for a breakfast "butter up". I am working most days in December. Crazy Tisha is moving to East Texas so I will work with Kelly until she can find a replacement. I love working when they need help and I know it won't be forever. So I am excited but also very sad!
So we got 8/10" rain early this morning as the front came through and it was fairly slow and soaked in. Now the sun is shining and at noon we are only 62°.
Just makes me feel like dancing!
What are you cookin' up for this weekend? I sure hope it is something fun and tasty. As soon as you are done cooking and putting up all the decorations, why don't you relax.
After all, you deserve it. So enjoy the rest of the week and the weekend and the kids (ding dong) ringing your doorbell. Because it just might be me ringing your doorbell.
Hi there. Its a windy and warm afternoon here. We have a chance for storms later today but I'm hoping that all we get is rain. I don't care for thunderstorms. Hope you have a good evening my friend and take care. Cheryl
Today I thought I would share some of my recent sky pictures. All I do is take them and I don't doctor them or enhance them.
The first one was taken from my front yard in the evening. The second one was taken in my backyard early one morning. When I see a beautiful sky in the early mornings, I hop, yes hop, up and have to hurry because I know in a matter of minutes, the bright colors will be gone.
I took this one one Sunday evening and was surprised to find a thunderstorm on radar. We didn't get a drop of rain even though we watched the radar with hopeful hearts for almost an hour.
As I turned around, this is what I saw above our house. Another beautiful cloud creation. Isn't God amazing.
So I hurried to the back yard. These clouds aren't as bright because it was a setting sun on the other side of our world. Yet it was equally as different and beautiful in it's own way.
Yesterday, as I was watering dry plants, I noticed something flew overhead. There were 3 or 4 buzzards. This one sat on our neighbor's roof for about 30 minutes.
As I finished up watering, I noticed that my poinsettias were turning red. I have 3 plants from probably the last 2-3 years. One of the plants was stuck in the back and has no red on it yet so I moved it to the front. But this is another sign that we are closing in on Thanksgiving, So I will say...
Hi Lorri - been a while, but I hope things have been good your way. The weather has been really nice the last several days but today we had some rain. We are ready for the trick or treaters at Halloween, how about you? Do you many children? We get almost 200 except for last year. I've finally finished decorating for fall and Halloween - hate the thought of having to pack it all up and putting it away - am getting too old for this stuff! But I do love it. Honey could care less though. Have a good rest of the week and a spooky Halloween! Hugs, Wendy
Can you believe it is the last Monday of October and next week we will be dark WAY too early for me? Why can't we stay in daylight savings time?
This is coming way too soon! Do you like/love winter? I am a sunshine and warm weather girl. I guess that is why I love Texas so much.
Of course, I do love the color Orange too! hehehe What is your favorite color?
Today, as I speak Blessings & Hugs over each of you and ask that you share your smile, I challenge you to DREAM. Speak your dream out loud and reach for it. It may just come true. But remember to be careful what you ask for.
~Still waiting for rain...should come tonite....Still watching baseball.....Wishing you a great Sunday :) Hugs Lorri
