Oh Pam, I'm sorry if you were insulted when I said how much of Walking Stick looks like a Praying Mantis. I've heard of Walking Sticks and seen them on tv but never one in real life I wouldn't know the difference except for the color and the pic you sent did look like a stick and was the right color. I ony meant how much it looked , to me, like a Prayig Mantis. What do I know anyway - sorry if I made you feel bad. I do love seeing your pictures of the birds, flowers and other wildlife so don't stop sending them. Guess I complained too much about not eating all day yesterday till supertime, as one of our friends said he was going out to lunch and did we want to go. The guys had 1 1/2 hr lunch break.. We didn't know where to go so we ended up at a Japanese place that was wonderful. Best Habachi place I've ever had. Got back with one minute to spare for the guys. I of course had all the time as I had no place to be. Tonite is the banquet where we get dressed up - but it's buffet. Should be served for $45! So now I'll get fat as I'll be having two big meals in one day. Well we did bring at leas half our meal home with us - we leave in the am so we'll have dinner tomorrow when we get home. There will be music and dancing afterwards.
I certainly wouldn't be outside in 95 degree weather - glad you stopped and came in to cool off. Not proofing this so as always forgive any spelling mistakes and have a great afternoon and evening. Hugs, Weendy
Hello and good afternoon. Its a hot 97* here. Got the air conditioner and fans going. This week has gone by fast and can't believe that tomorrow is Friday. I hope you are doing good and it isn't to hot for you. My cucumber and tomato plants are doing good. Just to hot to make any fruit. So hopefully it will cool off and I can have some cucumbers and tomatoes. Well take care my friend. Hugs, Cheryl
Twasn't me who called your pic a Praying Mantis. I knew it was one but thought the "walking stick" was a local name for them. Wisewolf corrected you. We have some in the flower beds. I took photos - maybe I can find them. I believe that after they mate the female eats the head of her hubby. It's called 'sexual cannibalism'
I do enjoy your photos. Keep 'em coming. Purr. Purr. Purr.
I haven't seen a passion vie flower - don't thnk tey have them around here and probably would have to be ordered from a catalog or online. The walking stick is the same - looks a lot like a praying mantis. Breakfast was catered in as the kitchen is broke so no food is available. It was from 7 to 8 - no way we can get up early enough for that! Had a hard time sleeping last nite a Rich packed his pillow but not mine - think he did it on purpose as he was bing an a_whole yesterday. He's now at a meeting till 2 so we won't get out to eat for at least a half hour aftert than then he won't want dinner so I'll be hungry til who knows whn as tomorrow will be the same. Maybe I'll loose weight while here. Havea nice afternoon - it lovely weather - hope it stays nice your way. Hugs, Wendy
What do you mean Harm's Way? I just got home from work and will catch up with everyone tomorrow. It is always a fun day working for Kelly and now I need to go check plants. LOVE YA!!!
