As many things as I've done, I've never had 'fresh from the hen' eggs, but I have witnessed the entire life cycle of a Monarch Butterfly, 30 times over, and I'll bet there aren't many people who have done that. The only part I haven't seen, is the mating, laying of eggs, and hatching out...LOL
GOOD MORNING, LOVE, HUGS & BLESSINGS, Ms. Pam, I pray YOU have a REFRESHINGLY FREAKY FRIDAY, and a PHENOMINAL WEEKEND, my friend...
Is that a pic of your hubby near the chicen coop? Your back yard is bigger than I thought!! I think I have had fresh eggs once, Pam but can't remember if I liked them or not - they definately have a different flavor and I'll alsways only had store bought eggs. Went to Sam's today and it always tires me out walking that store, so when we got home rich went to the post and I took a short nap then got up and did aa loa of laundry. We are going out to dinner tomorrow with our friends to celebrate her birthday, then gong to the post where I'm guessing he's gonna surprise her with a cake. Hope you have a nice Friday and a good start tothe new month. Hugs, Wendy
hHI PAM, LIVED ON A FARM IN MY YOUNG DAYS, GATHERED EGGS EVERY MORNING, CAN STILL SMELL THE COOPS AND THE SURROUNDING GRASSES, WAS A GREAT LIFE. MILKED THE COWS TOO. HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY AND DO BE WELL. LOVE AND HUGS, MOE
Can you believe that this is the last day of September Pam? The month has flown by. You must have a big property to have chickens. I have never eaten a fresh from the hen egg, but I can imagine they are delicious. Sue
Hi there. Its hard to believe that this is the last day of September. Time just flies by anymore. Its a cloudy and cool day here today but no rain yet. I'm hoping we get some tonight or tomorrow. We need some so bad. I hope you are having a great Thursday and will have a great evening my friend and take care. love, Cheryl
Hope you wacky Wednesday is going wonderful so far. I made some hamburger soup yesterday - did ok for just using one eye!! When I got my eye shot yesterday he found something on my eye that he wants me to see the doctor who did my cataract surgery years ago. I'm assuming it is just a film that sometimes occurs years after the surgery. He said it wasn't a big deal and can be done in office. I go sometime in October as that was his first opening. I kept seeing a film over my eye every so often but thought it was some mucous. Not sure why my regular eye doctor didn't catch it but it's ok, at least I know it's not me and that it'll be no big deal to fix. We just had some soup and grilled cheese sandwhiches for breakfast/lunch. ha ha guess you call it brunch! Going out for dinner with our Thursday nite group tonite as some can't make it tomorrow - it'll be Mexican. Have a great rest of the day Pam and enjoy this beautiful weather we are having. Love n hugs, Wendy

Just collected eggs after our Rosa's Tacos meal. Earlier this morning the orchids got their cube of ice for the week. Hummingbirds got fresh food in the feeder.
Halloween nails got put on. Showered & washed hair (should have colored it). Filled up car with gas. Lottery tickets bought. A load of clothes got washed.
So now it is time to chill and read my Kindle app because it is very near 100° and too hot to sit even on the covered patio today. Wednesday Hubby has an appointment with a vision eye doctor and Thursday he has an appointment with a glaucoma eye doctor (hence car filled with gas).
Praying for your health, Lee. Now, orange you glad I'm done.
Good Morning Pam and happy mid week! Love your Halloween nails. Another beautiful day here. Enjoy your mid week! I am enjoying National Coffee day. Haha! As if I needed a special day to drink it.
I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, Pam. We are expecting some rain today. I do have some reading to do if we get all that moisture. Hugs, my friend. Nancy
Good morning, hope all is well your way! Love the nails! My daughter does not nails, all decorated for fall and bit of Halloween, hope the weather will be good for the kiddies, go go go we are off again today.
Guess what we are doing this week... collecting eggs! We are getting 6 fresh eggs a day. Our friends came over yesterday for a visit and I gave them all the eggs we had, which was between 2 and 3 dozen (all fresh).
So today, we are patiently waiting for the six hens to take turns on the nest. There are several nests in the coop but they all lay their eggs in one nest. So when you open the top, all six, 3 white (Leghorns) and 3 brown (Rhode Island Reds) are all right there together.
Isn't that strange? Soon they will be able to hatch chickens because they have one rooster added to the mix now. They lost two young chickens (out of three) they had in a different pen. So they traded the last young one for a rooster because the older hens would pick and peck on the younger one.
Guess I had better go figure out what to do for our meal of the day. Bills are already paid, grass has been mowed, and I am getting hungry. So share your smile and know that I am sending Blessings and Hugs your way everyday.
What an interesting page you have Pam. Every time I check it out, its awesome.
I'm not so talented.
I wanted to have chickens here but we have too many coyotes. Couple of my neighbors tried having them and they got eatten 1 or 2 at a time. So I decided- not a good idea. Ha.
A short late note tonite Pam. Really nice weather today and for the past several days and tomorrow then some rain moves in but I think it will misss us and we'll have nice weather with no humidity and near 90 tomorrow. You sure got a lot of eggs Pam. I guess they would keep for a while or those folks will be eating a lot of egg salad and hard boiled eggs! I just made a quick dinner of spaghetti with jared sauce and Texas toast as I didn't plan on anything and before I knew it, it was time for dinner. I spent the time finally decorating for fall - and changing the table cloth - first it had to be ironed! Got to get a shot in my eye tomorrow morning so I might be on again late tomorrow if at all. Have a wonderful Tuesday. Good nite Wendy
