We just finished the last of the Chicken and Dumplings. And yes, it was delicious. So now it is time for a Peppermint Pattie!
We have been to the Glaucoma doctor and to the Optical store to pay for Hubby's glasses. We did stop and buy a lottery ticket. Hubby always buys one for him and one for me. If there is a winning ticket, it is his ticket not mine.
We still haven't had a drop of rain but they keep promising us it is coming tomorrow. This is the third day in a row they have said tomorrow.
It is almost time to go check on the chickens, give them fresh water, throw them some mealworms and collect eggs.
Have you ever had fresh "from the hen" eggs? Oh my gosh! They just have such a wonderful flavor. So now I'm off to water the plants and watch for hummingbirds.
hope it is a good day for you it is now midweek I can almost see the weekend now it is warm but now humidity so I can go outside and enjoy the afternoons after work again
Just collected eggs after our Rosa's Tacos meal. Earlier this morning the orchids got their cube of ice for the week. Hummingbirds got fresh food in the feeder.
Halloween nails got put on. Showered & washed hair (should have colored it). Filled up car with gas. Lottery tickets bought. A load of clothes got washed.
So now it is time to chill and read my Kindle app because it is very near 100° and too hot to sit even on the covered patio today. Wednesday Hubby has an appointment with a vision eye doctor and Thursday he has an appointment with a glaucoma eye doctor (hence car filled with gas).
Barbie, you know I am jealous of your dancing a lot. Now, orange you glad I'm done.
Guess what we are doing this week... collecting eggs! We are getting 6 fresh eggs a day. Our friends came over yesterday for a visit and I gave them all the eggs we had, which was between 2 and 3 dozen (all fresh).
So today, we are patiently waiting for the six hens to take turns on the nest. There are several nests in the coop but they all lay their eggs in one nest. So when you open the top, all six, 3 white (Leghorns) and 3 brown (Rhode Island Reds) are all right there together.
Isn't that strange? Soon they will be able to hatch chickens because they have one rooster added to the mix now. They lost two young chickens (out of three) they had in a different pen. So they traded the last young one for a rooster because the older hens would pick and peck on the younger one.
Guess I had better go figure out what to do for our meal of the day. Bills are already paid, grass has been mowed, and I am getting hungry. So share your smile and know that I am sending Blessings and Hugs your way everyday.
