Woke up to a light snow this morning but it's gone now. Calling for rain/snow mix tomorrow and I'm not ready for that! It's a good day anyway and I'm getting ready to watch OSU/Perdue game. Hope you are having a great weekend! Hugs, Nancy
Been chasing Paisley around the house all morning trying to get the cream in her left ear
and she led me a merry chase! Finally caught her sunning in BR window and got some on her
but not all.... best I can do!
Found on YT a channel from old couple in AZERBAIJAN on a farm.. she wears a long dress with apron and a kerchief over her hair always.....grows oodles of flowers, huge garden and orchard!
They cook outside using all kinds of make shift stoves and ovens heated with firewood....she
makes all kinds of bread daily and they make tea from EVERYTHING.. all kinds of flowers
brewed in a pot and they never strain it.. just pour petals and tea straight into glasses. !
Today found one where they roasted and smoked a turkey, Man dug a deep hole in ground
and made fire till only hot coals were left.....then put in a flat pan with foil lined potatoes in it..
then hung the turkey from a stick above the fire but still in the ground.,.covered it with a flat lid and then COVERED ALL WITH DIRT! she stuffed the bird with all kinds of veggies
and pomegranite seeds and brushed the skin with SEASONED YOGURT! In few hours it was
done and they ate outside , He had a huge log split in half as the table top which sat on 2 stumps!
Glad I dont have to make my Thanksgiving meal that way!
There are oodles of their videos on YT on channel Country Life Vlog if you want to check it out.
No one talks on the video as they speak no English and is no music playing.. scenery is pretty and they have all kinds of
animals..cows, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs, really a rough way to live but shows how it can be done with a lot of work. Today she cooked a whole lamb over a campfire! They have huge pots
Beautiful Fall weather here....LA Calif is in the 90s tomorrow~Friends have posted pics on the beach with there kids....Enjoy your Week~end~ Hugs Lorri
Well I'm here in Williamsburg - took us longer than it should due to the directions on the GPS - but we made it safe and sound. The worse part so far was trying to find a place to eat dinner. There was an hour wait at the place we wanted to eat and so many of the other places were packed. I finally found a place off the main road that was Italian - no line, no wait time and we had a really good meal. Took back leftovers. Have to get us at an ungodly time of the morning - 8AM - now stop laughing!!! The meeting time is 9:30 - got it moved from 9 am - big deal huh? Let me tel you the traffic is unbelievable! Every time share must be having owner meetings as I don't think this place would have this many cars at this time of year. Oh one more complaint? the neighbors are very loud! They aren't fighting, but at times it sounds like one is trying to kill the other! Maybe both are very hard of hearing????? Hope after we close all the doors to the bedroom we won't hear them. Had rain during the nite, but was clear before noon. Have a quiet and peaceful nite Pam. Pumpkin hugs and smiles, Wendy
Hi there. Its a sunny day here today but it doesn't feel warm at all. The wind is blowing out of the north and its cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer. In the 60's. Have a nice rest of your Friday and a very nice weekend my friend. Take care.
I sure am getting hungry for pmpkin and pecan pie and the whole Thanksgiving feast for that matter! Wishing you a wonderful day full of joy and excitement for the upcoming holidays. Hugs, Nancy
Spent most of the day in bed - not feeling good. Finally got a small refill of meds - $88 and only for several pills! Insurance wouldn't cover it and I'll call in the morning to find out why not Feeling better now. Rich missed his free dinner for Veterans - but made some dinner for us. Have a happy tomorrow. Hugs, Wendy
I hope you have a great weekend. I will try to finish 2 good books that I am reading and I'll watch some TV. My son David and I will go to eat lunch tomorrow at our Catfish Buffet. Hugs, Nancy
Sorry to hear about your son's friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. I remember Texas thunderstorms real well! Hope you didn't get any damage from it.
Evening Pam - I hear ya about drinving in the rain especially in the dark - I almost neverr drive in the dark anymore unless I'm caught out in it . never was a fan of driving when it rains - but honey says that's why cars come with windshield wipers! Went to the docs and she put in for a weeks worth of my meds, but the pharm said they needed to talk to her, but the office was closed when I called them back to find out when I could pick up the med. Well who knew? They should have called her. Hope you had a good dinner out - always nice not have to cook (or not in your case) but to be treated with no clean up or planning. Have a good Veteran's Day tomorrow - hopefully I'll be at the post celebating - that is if I feel well enough and hear from my doc! Good nite, Wendy
