Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Nice out here on the back porch tonite. Coffee?? Hot chocolate?? Tea?? CHOCOLATE????? LOLOL

I'm tellin' ya this has been another strange day. Last week, it was "who are you sleeping with" in my email... Today it was a phone call... sheesh...lolol I can't believe this!

OK, I was sitting here minding my own business... the phone rings... I answer. Male caller with heavy east Indian accent. Wants to know if it's me? I checked with the dogs, in the mirror... Yup, it's me...

Medical questions follow: B mesh ? V sling? I got tickled. then mentioned 'hip replacement'. I howled and replied that: at 77 I knew I was falling apart but, no, I didn't have those problems... told him he had the wrong person... and hung up in hysterics. lololol Wonder if he will call back.... 

Here's another call from years ago...If you are easily offended, don't read this one...
Phone rings...I answer...trained male voice. Whatcha doin? Nothing. Watchin' tv? Yup but nothing on. Can I come over. Depends on who this is. Can I come over? Who is this? Can I come over? I got tickled and started to laff... Said Aw 'this is my little obscene phone caller' thru my lafter. I was really tickled and laffing. The guy then states for me NOT to laff like that...You're making it get soft! I screamed and whooped and hollered laffing and dropped the phone on the the floor. He hung up and never did call back. Was it something I said?

Does it occur to any one else that I seem to be a magnet for strange events?

Now, to the giraffe thingy! lolol I COULD NOT get a pic of any giraffe to transfer to my profile... Well, today, it dawned on me that I did have my very own pix of giraffes. Done for a friend in town for her newborn twin daughters. So, I posted them. Then I found one of me at a party dressed in a tiger striped gown... red hair and all... kinda blurry. And then there is one of me as a blue deer... That other thing over to the left is a hang on the tree thingy which reminded of the Marv. It's hanging on the wall above my puters. lolol Just thought I'd share these... I'm still trying to find the one of me dressed as a leopard. Don't dare wear that pattern out of doors. Likely to get shot or sumfin.

2013*10*26 Saturday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Brrrrrr! Get in here and get warm. sheesh, it was 27 deg overnite. Lordy Pete! I think it got to all of 40 today. Time to get the Parka and mukluks out. I really am cute on sunny winter days...parka/mukluks and my pink bikini! Gotta' catch my tans when I can... I just made that part up about the parka...lolol 

I'm on my first cuppa and a fresh pot is perking.. I goofed the other day somehow and ended up with coffee all over the counter again. Did you know there is a 'spill the coffee' gremlin out there somewhere? No grounds in the pot itself but you should have seen the counter and the floor. I wonder if I could con the dogs into.... Nah, better not. I need to ponder on this situation for a while.

Now here is a biggy... Got an email from some reporter or newspaper today. I am not making this up... Headline/subject matter: "Obama wants to know who you are sleeping with"... OKAY? Hmmmmm... ponder ponder... I fell out of my chair in hysterics. Who am I sleeping with... ? ? ? ? The man had better have plenty of time to waste. Boy, do I have some answers for him! 

This is an old but true story...I was in the feed store buying supplies and feed and checking out the hardware aisle. Got to check out. 6 or 7 guys behind me in line. Male clerk asked me if I was lesbian 'cause I didn't have a man. Truth, so help me! (No offense meant here at all) I cracked up... got hysterical again. Told the guy, who obviously was trying to embarrass me...No, I have 4 kids, had two husbands, several fiances, and 9 million lovers... give or take a few. I am NOT taking on another to train, raise and housebreak. 

The men behind me cracked up... clerk turned red. And I was only in my 60's then and I haven't improved! lololol

Anyway, back to the "O" question... sleeping with??? lolol At one time or another, Lilyputz, Pyggs, Monty, Winslow, Delilah, Houdi, Homer, the humongous Newbie, ah, hmmm... maybe I'd best go at this from the other side... Who I HAVEN'T slept with.

Make that Sam, the mule, none of the chickens. Nor the snapping turtle who visited one day. None of the frogs or toads altho I did find a frog under the fridge one day. (I didn't ask!)

2013*10*17 Thursday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Be advised the following is something I don't normally do. I will speak of a decent person who died in an accident. Our local paper did not mention it even though he was a very active volunteer firefighter.

I am speaking of a gentleman named Denver Lee (Dank) Madden. Did I know him well? No, but the few times we spoke, he was kind and sharing. I was out at the mail box the first week or so that I moved out here to Island City. He stopped and spoke for a couple of minutes then handed me a package of frozen home grown corn. He and Anna had a running 'gotcha battle'... teasing and tormenting each other as old friends. He was a giver of himself and his time. He will be missed by those who knew him.

Go in peace, my friend. A new piece of equipment, gassed up and ready to go has your name on it up there. Hugs and much love to all of yours. Paula Rice There are many here in the mountains who will remember your kindnesses.

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get on in here and share some goodies! (Whisper 'goodies'. The critters know that means TREATS!) lolol And don't feed the dogs from the table! lolololol

It's been a strange day again. Is there any other kind? I found a package out front on my chair. Guess who has caught up with me, finally... lolol My Secret Admirer! Been a while but, boy, am I glad he found me. Package contained two boxes. One was filled with CHOCOLATE covered peanuts with caramel. The larger box contains all kinds of cheeses and meats. Yummy! Guess which box I opened immediately and dove into? Oh yeah! CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!! After I come down from my CHOCOLATE high, I will dive into the meats and cheeses. Hmmmm, maybe I should say 'thank you' to the sender. It's a good thing I don't know who you are; you just might find me parked on your doorstep sometime in the future. lololololol Would I pull your leggs? Probably!

Anyway, I progressed out to the mail box...can you say 'knee deep in catalogs'. Sheesh! I truly believe the only ones making money in today's market are the catalog makers. Question to myself: wonder how much money is involved in the production of said cats? Up here on the mountain, G'cutter takes them to the lower field and burns them on safe days. For instance, we had a medium amount of rain up here today. Tomorrow would be a safe day. 

Speaking of G'cutter, he came out and emptied Tilde of all the stuff I had in her. lolol Too funny in one way. I had clean sheets and emergency supplies behind the seat. Hadn't seen them in years.. Then there was a fold up stool that I didn't remember having. (Used it when I went out on painting sessions over on Cow Creek) Then there was the storage bin. 

G'cutter carried it in the house complaining mightily about how heavy it was. It's amazing the stuff he pulled out of it! Tools, of course. A soaked hard cover sketch book. (Wondered what had happened to it) A plastic rain suit, just in case. And last of all, bag, after bag, after bag of polished river rocks. lololol Seeing them, I remembered buying them on a closeout at the Dollar store years ago... was going to use them in a 50 gal aquarium. All this time and I never missed them. Shut up, Marv!

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Sheesh, my 'the Marv' fan club is at it again. lololol Received a message today from him. I quote:

"What can I say.... watching you is like watching a train wreck. Gotcha! So fascinating.. Yet strangley irresistible!"

I fell on the floor with the giggles. lolol It's the first time I've been compared to a train wreck but I can see the resemblance. The Marv and I have had a running "Gotcha" battle for years. I even wrote a limerick to/for him sumfin about a guy named Marv,
Had a turkey to carve... lololol This occurred back in Eons Days. lolol

All of these years and there have never been hurtful remarks from either one of us to the other. True friends! (Altho, I do look over my shoulder once in a while. Just to check if he might be sneaking up on me!) lololol Gotcha Brat! My Bad! I know he will get even!

I'm a tellin' y'all that the puter system is God's punishment on mankind for thinking he [man] is so smart. Google chrome crashed I don't know how many times today. I rolled out about 1800 hours. Coffee, then the puter. Coffee, NO puter. I wanted to throw a brick thru the screen! Screen is innocent party in this case but when in serious throws of frustration, whatever is nearest works for me!!!!! Do you guys remember when they made the foam bricks? Neatest idea ever. Wonder if they still make/sell them? lolol If so, I need about a dozen... the first 9 or 10 will be used to get the attention of the juveniles in DC! 

Did I just write/say that? Anna keeps telling me that all the feds are gonna come get me with a net. They'd better bring a sturdy one, is all I can say! Maybe I'd better quit while I am slightly ahead!

Oh, the pix below... Kitchen in home in Ohio. I painted the old floor and the wall behind the stove has vines running thru lattice, ditto the ceiling and a tree by the door to the dining room.

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home!

Get in here and make yourselves ta home. Got a new nickname to share with y'all... How about TerMOMinator? lolol Bobbi has decided that appellation describes me to a T or sumfin. lolol Then, quite a while back, I asked for suggestions to name my wheelchair... I finally decided on "the Meem Machine". Thanx Fletch, appreciate the help! lolol

Been a crazy month. Between SocSec and the USDA, I was just about to give up on life entirely. Sheesh, don't they ever stop? Well, I've gotten all the paper work done and mailed in. Still waiting for my letter from the Doc. And I haven't heard anything either gov agency but I did get everything/all paperwork filled out and mailed in. (Another sheesh! I wish ALL the delinquents in DC would quit throwing feces in each others sandboxes...) America is going to hell in a handbasket while 'they' fluff their egos. Enuf of that! 

My days and nites are still screwed up. But when the phone rings, I answer! Or not! lolol I sold Tilde, my pickup and am saving $100 a month on insurance all by itself. Cut back on the speed on puter; cut the tv programs to basics only (saved a lot there) and dropped all the goodies on the phone...no call waiting, etc. I've also asked for a 6 or 12 month moratorium on the house. 

I know that some are asking why I publish all the stuff about the gov. Those of you who have known me for years are aware this isn't the first time I've had to go thru this. I write because I hope to help others who may not be able to help themselves in these matters...to make others aware.

Let's see now, what else is going on???? Homer, the pup, is a terror... a jet propelled terror! He has now unstuffed two kingsized comforters. The dust bunnies are up in arms and picketing! But do the dust bunnies help me keep him corralled ?? I don't think so. Homer has also chewed on the bed post! MY territory!!! He has also learned to get into the stuff in the right hand drawer of my puter set up. He steals my hairbrush out of it. Of course, the bed itself is in permanent disarray. I thot Newbie was bad??? Pfft! ain't nothing compared to Homer's abilities.

Been doing a lot of reading the last week or so. Eight books, several novelettes and a couple of short stories. I do the Amazon thingy and some of the books are free. Been doing mysteries... I do love to read. Anything to keep learning.

The pix below were taken March last year... AT NOON! Tornado watches/warnings all over the place. Torrential rains running down the yard on both sides of the house.

As much as I hate, really hate, to say this, I must say goodbye for the time being. I lost my 'battle' with the USDA... rent has been raised by $100. After receiving this notice, I received one from Social Security dated the 6th saying I had been overpaid more than $5,000 the last two years. Weren't 2011 and 2012 the years that we all received NO increases. I've started the paper work and I've cut back today on everything possible but it is still not enuf to save my house should things turn out badly. Don't panic now like I've done this past week. I DO have a place to go if necessary but it will mean I must leave my Lady of the Mountain and move to another state. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Ya know, if I had had an extra $5,000 don't you think I would have noticed? Gee, I wouldn't have borrowed the money to put up a fence... nor would I have to have needed monies for the water line just installed a month or so ago. And hand rails for the step/s on the front porch? Just askin'...If it's ok, I'll keep y'all posted with how this works out... Updated info might help someone else who I am sure will end up in the same boat. (A little sympathy wouldn't hurt either! lololol) Ah well, I've already held my very own pity party for me... Pick myself up and off I go again.

I've never learned to stay down when I hit bottom... No way! I always pick myself up/dig myself out and start all over again. You'd think I'd learn... lolol

I've cut way back on my DSL time but I will check my emails and stuff. Take care of yourselves all of mine. You are always in my thoughts...go in safety. Remember to be kind to one another. Sometimes kindness is all we have to give.

EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS * 2013*8*22 Thursday

Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get in here and cool off for a bit... There's tea and coffee and pop (diet)...and CHOCOLATE!!!!!

Been busy doing stuff that needed to be done. Poor lil MiniMax... Well, I'm one of those firm believers that he will be waiting over there for me... All my critters... heaven is having time for all at the same time. Seets, my horse, will be all ready to go... I'll put the lil critters in the saddle bags and off we will go on the next great adventure. Talk about your zoo parade... we will be laffing and having a blast here on my mountain. I'll run into some of mine over there too. Old Bear and Easy and and and... We can all gather down by the creek in the shade... Laff and tell tall tales... and we will be there to welcome the others who wander our way.

Totally off the above subject, I decided this week to do the bedding... Oh dear! Talk about your getting too old to play with the bed! Sheesh! I sleep on three feather beds... on top of a futon which is embedded in a porch made into a bed. lolol Now, tell me this makes sense.

When I lived on Cow Creek, I bot materials to put a small porch on the trailer I was living in. Well, the property owner didn't want the porch. OK, so now I have all this expensive treated wood. (at the time, I was sleeping on an air mattress on the floor)
AHA, says she... A BED! My very own home made bed...lolol Ok, so now what/who can make this bed for me...lolol I call my buddy, JCC, of Ditch Witch fame.. Yup, he can do that. I've looked thru all my pix and do think I can find the bed under construction? I don't think so! lolol The pic with Viva shows some of the finished paint work.

Sheesh, it don't take much for me to wander off topix... shut up Marv! Anyway, I was doing the bedding... lolol Swapped the feather beds end for end and over. Sprinkled talc and stuff.. clean sheets, pillow cases, comforters rotated. (will explain rotation later) And THEN, I find a foam mattress that will fit my bed... mattress on sale... Well, Here I go again... lolol undo all of the above... the sheets part. That damned mattress better work out right or else I go back to sleeping on the floor... I do NOT recommend this option... not here anyway... lolol

I hope the pix come out... had problems with program tonite. #1 is yorkypoo who needed a home. #2 is the rotten Brat, Audrey coming to the front door, #3 is you know who and #4 shows parts of the home made bed.
