I found out right as I was leaving for my dentist appointment that a temp job I thought I had was cancelled. It would have been four hours on Friday and then all next week. At the firm where one of my best friends works. Rats!! Off to the dentist for a broken tooth. It was broken in the strangest way - my dentist had never seen anything like it. Fortunately, he was able to fix it by putting in a porcelain filling. And because I had been laid off, he's waiving my co-payment. So whatever the insurance doesn't cover, he's going to write off. And my insurance doesn't cover porcelain fillings at all, so it will be a substantial savings for me. I love my dentist!! He's honest (saved me over $1,200 the first time I visited him - it was for a second opinion) and kind and compassionate. So a day that started with sad tears ended with happy ones. 
Cleaning Poem
I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'
He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into.
I was into it all night.
Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

Thank you to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday - I received so many beautiful messages! I was having a little pity party because my own family is so dysfunctional - not a word from anyone. And being recently laid off only made a major milestone (50 years old!) seem worse. But I've read so many profiles on NOTH and realize that I have so much to be thankful for in my life. So many people here have suffered or are still suffering heartbreaking losses and having major health issues or have family members who are going through painful times. I love this country and my life and I'm glad I found this place. So thank you again!
