I just got back from my grand daughter's public school. Today is the last day of school and they had an Awards Ceremony for the entire school including parents/grands/etc.
For people who continue to b--ch about no God in public schools, I have to say, we pledged allegiance, UNDER GOD, we sang CHRISTMAS songs, Hanukkah songs and songs in Spanish. The second graders were on stage, using sign language and it was delightful to hear their "off key" melodic voices. *grin* This is what public educaiton is all about...teaching the masses and leaving no one behind, ENCOMPASSING all things not just SOME things.
Children were extremely well behaved and for those that needed reminders, they got them quietly and gently. This school is not a high socio/economic school in our district either.
As a child who went to catholic schools, I am ever so glad my sons, and now my grandkids are experiencing more than just one view of this great big world we ALL share, and the significance of diversity and differences of religious beliefs other than their own.
Thank God for our freedoms!!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Kwanzaa!!

Just sitting here looking out my patio door to the rain coming down. All nice and toasty in here but not out there.
The irony? Oh yeah, hubby is hanging rain gutters at the moment. As a dutiful, helpful and encouraging wife I want all you men reading this out there that I DID tell him TWICE of the impending rain coming today. Instead.....he ah............well.........you guessed it. Didn't put them up......well UNTIL NOW.
Here's the dilemma, do I get out of this nice comfy chair, in this nice comfy house to go out there and help him in the rain? It hasn't started pouring yet...........so I will just sit and watch here for the time being I think or until he yells for me.
Cher-who truly LOVES her hubby!
