Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home! Get yourselves in here and get dried off. Sheesh! 40 deg and drizzling rain! Guess I'm gonna need to make another trek to Storm God's Central! Shoulda' whispered that last sentence. If Anna hears I'm making another trip, she gonna be ''on'' me, for sure!
Before I forget, I want to let the lady asking about the welfare of the kitten on the ice story from yesterday. Kitten was fine and I was
relieved that I didn't need to make a rescue from the the cold, icy water. It did call to mind a real event that happened back in the fifties.. lolol
My BFF*W was going steady with nice guy. Guy had buddy. I ended up on blind date with buddy. "They" decided we would go skating at the Cincinnati Gardens rink. Now, I had only been on ice skates maybe twice when I was very young...double bladed strap ons. I borrowed some skates from a co-worker.
All the way to Cinti, my date kept talking about how well he skated. Well, the more he talked the more I shriveled inside. Sheesh! I was dying and in embarrassed misery the whole trip. We finally arrived at the Gardens... inside we went.
Rink was surrounded by a barricade and we found seats about 5 rows up. I sat down and waited for Buddy to help me with my skates and then help me to the ice. This is not quite the way it worked out tho.
Buddy put on his skates... then he went down the steps and vaulted over the barricade ... As I watched, he slowly but surely disappeared behind the fencing! ?!?!?! His feet had slipped out from under him and nothing was left showing but his fingertips. It was all downhill from there. Did you know that it is hard to keep your balance when you are laffing hysterically?
