Hi KittySmileycons!

Yes,  it's the same with me, somehow I get nothing done!!      Yes,  we celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December.   Most of South Africa are Christians but,  even the other people also have the Christmas holidays.  Everything is closed on the 25th and 26th and  all the shops are decorated and the streets has lights and the houses are decorated with lights so,  it is a big occasion.    My Xmas tree is up and my decorations throughout the house.

Sjoe! (Whow),  the prune tree is so large and the prunes are so many that I'll have to get a huge net to cover it all,  but it could work if the tree was smaller.   Nevermind - the birds must also be fed and I tell myself that it is best I have no fruit because then I would have to do something with it like making jam or chutney ......so .....   It is mid summer here and VERY HOT!!!   Just when I want to start complaining,  I think about the winter....brrr

I wish you strength for the time ahead and I'm thinking of you.

Geseënde Kersfees en 'n Gelukkige Nuwe Jaar (Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year)

InaSmileycons!

Hi Ina,  Thank you so much for your note.  I truly enjoy hearing about you and your country.

I have finally got my tree all decorated, no I have to concentrate on getting all the baking done!  I've picked seven different cookies to bake, so there will be cookies all over the place!  I'd like to have enough that I can make up a nice platter for the young couple that lives next door to me.  They are busy all the time, as she is a teacher and he works in a factory about fourty miles from here.  I just see them in passing but one day when my truck wouldn't start I called to him and he came over and made a list of the things I needed, then when I got them he installed them for me!  Very nice.  I made him some brownies then because he wouldn't let me pay him, but would also like to make them some cookies too.

My family is coming here again for Christmas dinner!  So I am truly blessed.  I haven't seen them much in the last eight years as they were fighting amongst themselves.  They've made up, thank God, they're 43 and 47 years old, you'd think they wouldn't fuss and fight like kids.  Oh well, I'm glad there's peace again!  And so glad everyone is coming for Christmas.  We're not exchanging gifts as there are to many of us, we will just enjoy each others company!  If everyone comes there should be between sixteen or twenty of us.  I have five grandchildren aged from 4years to 29 years.  Then I have six great grandchildren, aged from 3 years to 9 years.

Sweet lady here's wishing you and yours a wonderful blessed Christmas.  We will celebrate the birthday of our Lord and Savior.  God bless.

Hugs,  Kitty

Hi Ina!

I am feeling much better lately. I started taking some probiotics to rebuild my immune system, and I have noticed a huge difference in the way I feel. I have been struggling with a sinus infection since the end of Sept, and the doctors are trying to figure ouyt why it doesn't go away! Had a sinus CT scan today and will get results later this week.

Going to a Christmas dinner party tonight over at the Pastor's house! His wife does a lovely party for all the single women in church.

Have a great evening!

Hi Ina!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!  I brought some friends with me tonight. We have been out caroling all over the Hill and wanted to stop by your place and sing, too!  We are having a great time, but getting cold. I think we need to find a place to warm up and have some hot chocolate for a while.   If you want to join us, grab your hat and coat, and meet us at Chloe's place! That is our next stop! Would love to have you!  C'mon!

Hi Kitty,   Just wanted to hear how you are.   It is good to have so many hobbies and to stay busy.  I also like to be busy the whole day through because, when I have nothing to do,  I become depressed and thinks about everything that is sad etc. so....

It is very hot here and, because of all the rain we had,  one cannot open a window or all the mosquitos(?)  come in!!!!   The days are so long,  but I love it,  especially to work in the garden after the sun is gone  (and then the birds enjoy themselves!!!).  My prunes are still green, then the birds eat them, and I get nothing!!!

Well,  have a nice Wednesday.

Groete  (greetings)

Ina

Ina,  So good to hear from you.  I have been trying to get ready for Christmas but am not making much headway!  Oh well, I can blame it on old age:)

Do you have some kind of small netting that you can cover your prunes with?  It would help keep the birds at bay.  We do that here when we have the smaller fruit.

Do you celebrate Christmas?  If so, when?  It's so hard to think of how cold it's getting here, and that you are in the middle of Spring or Summer!

My dear friend thank you for keeping in touch.  Much love,  Kitty
