“If someone thinks that peace and love are just a cliche that must have been left behind in the '60s, that's a problem. Peace and love are eternal.” (John Lennon)

MY FAVORITE COLOR
Blues/Teal, certain oranges, certain reds and purples, just depends
MY FAVORITE FOOD
Unfortunately, I adore anything that starts with a P: Pizza, pasta, and pastry!
I am an old hippie (no, not the druggie kind) who has a strong faith, loves my family and friends whom I cherish, and loves music which adds to my blessed life.
(I've also been told I don't have both oars in the water some times but it's all good ;)
WHAT I LIKE
Nothing like being around family and/or friends!
WHAT I DON'T LIKE
Constant complainers and hypocrits. Asparagus and brussel sprouts and gross foods like brains and livers...blecchh!
HOBBIES
Walking, writing, photography, reading, cooking, playing piano, gardening, as long as I take Aleve beforehand ;)
Thought I'd drop by for a little bit, see how you've been doing this winter...I bet you've had quite a bit of snow, hmmm? No such luck out here in western Washington. Plenty of rain and snow in the mountains, but we're too low in elevation to catch more than a dab every now and then. Much to the disappointment of my son, who would love to be able to go sledding at least once a winter--more often if he could. Well, maybe next winter it will be colder here so he and his sister can trudge down to the high school and swoosh down the hill from the parking lot there to the lower field where the football team often practices. It's all grass, nothing to run into, and steep enough to be lots of fun and maybe just a teensy bit scary, too. Everything a grown-up kid could want, huh? (Nick will be 30 this year, his sister will be 33 towards the end of the year...but they still like to do some 'kid-stuff' kind of things...thank goodness!!)
Haven't been going anywhere except to "town" now and again for groceries and such. That would be either to Portland, Oregon (actually Gresham, Oregon--it's tucked right next to Portland, but is on the east side, so is closer to our end of things) or Vancouver, WA. Those two cities are across the Columbia River from each other. Oregon has no sales tax; Washington doesn't charge it for food but does for everything else. So sometimes we go to Oregon if we have a larger amount of "non-food" items to pick up. Definitely for a large ticket item--that sales tax really adds up fast!
No flowers in bloom yet, but there are signs of Spring to come. I have tulip plants, crocus plants, and scads of grape hyacinths shooting up in the yard. Of course if the deer find them, I will have scads of chewed down plants. The only Spring flowers they seem to leave alone are the daffodils. Guess that's what I ought to invest in for future plantings, hmmm?
Alright, will toddle off. I hope you've been staying healthy and haven't gotten pasted with the flu--it does seem to have been going around and the flu is the nastiest crud to have--yech! Knock on wood we've only had a cold or two here. That, I can deal with! Keep warm and have a delightful week, okay?
