Fantasy, sci-fi, anything with special effects...comedy, and, sigh, I hate to admit it, "chick flicks"...

Again, almost any...not fond of rap, bluegrass or opera...

Almost any! Not fond of horror...

My headline is a quote from "Spoon River Anthology" by Edgar Lee Masters. I first saw it on a poster on a bulletin board in a high school Junior English classroom. It was carved into a tombstone in an eerie cemetery setting. It changed my life, at age seventeen. I was a newcomer to a southern community from the north. It was my eleventh school in twelve years of schooling. It marked a change in perspective on life that has lead me to who I am today. That quote was the beginning of a collection of quotes that have impacted my way of thought and action over my lifetime...and as one of such, it reflects a part of who I am...as does my adapting so many times as we moved from rural to urban, state to state, region to region, and even to foreign lands..
I serve abused and neglected children and the families who foster them...I have a faithful companion in Goldie, a huge female feline more independent than I!...I live in a cottage with flower and food gardens that I love to tend...I am not often on-line, but will pop in and out as I have time...I hope to become acquainted with many members of Not Over the Hill!
