Hi, my friend, I don't believe how long since I have been here on The Hill. Thank you so much for the sweetest comments... I really appreciate them all. Well,... I have been busy with work around the house and the aches and pains of getting older; and preventing me from getting work done. I have avoided the "Virus", don't go anywhere to stay safe. But, I am getting into doing crafts again. Won't be going back to craft shows just yet, so will be selling on line; again, to stay safe from the "Virus". Winter has been gone from N. H., not that we got much of one at all this year. I'm getting ready to start the container veggie garden for 2022. Daily rain coming up, so I'll start the day after Easter.
Hopefully, now that I am fully retired, I wil be here more often. I have always done my own cooking, but the same old same old. So, I have been getting into cooking new & different recipies/foods. Well, I need to get back to work here; there is enough at my house and property to keep me working full time for several years. It's that old addage "The cobler's kids always end up going barefoot." Have a great week, and I love hearing from you. Hugs TP
Just caught the end of lightning about 1 am after the storms had passed. Early news last night reported one area that already had 12" of rain.
Our rain, downpour, lasted about an hour and we got 2". Last night we had our usual stream in the backyard. But this morning there wasn't even a puddle. We have been dry and are grateful for the rain. I love that it soaked right in.
I am a morning person and a night person. I love watching the sun come up every morning and listening for the "crack" of dawn, hurrying out to catch the colors that appear and disappear quickly. But I also love late night, watching the moon move overhead, feeling the cool breeze, and seeing millions of stars in the sky. What about you?
Guess what I saw yesterday and today? I cleaned out the feeders and put in fresh food and then it was nice enough, warm with not too much wind, to sit on the patio for a while. I have at least a couple of different hummers!
I am working Monday and Tuesday, so I have been extra busy this weekend working inside and outside playing catch up. Now of course, we watched Longhorn Baseball and Softball Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon too.
So stop by and I will be back by Wednesday to check on you again. After all, you are my favorite, next to the hummingbirds in my yard.
Surely April means Spring! I know it means showers as we are supposed to get rain on Monday and Tuesday. I just hope it means the temperatures won't drop into the 30's again.
I am so ready to put flowers in the yard and hanging baskets full of flowers in the trees. We still need to clean out several flower beds and buy red mulch for all of them.
I am anxious to see butterflies and hummingbirds pollinating and all the beautiful colors of Spring. With all that being said, I am heading to the yard and sending you lots of ...
Good Afternoon! It is almost Friday which means that it is almost the weekend. Well, it is the last day of March.
And before we know it, April will become May! Time flies the older we get and boy, there are days I do feel old. Ok, today may not be one of them. I am missing the warmer temperatures though as today is only 61°.
I am going to remind you to share your smile, send blessings & hugs to you, and leave you with words of wisdom...
We had rain for a few days~Now its nice 72~Birds are very busy~ We have Blue Jays~Finchs~Humming Birds~Alot of little Brown sparrows~ Hope you are well~ Enjoy your Evening~ Hugs Lorri
We survived the early morning storms. After an inch of rain there were lots of traffic accidents reported. I only heard of one microburst that did major wind damage in our area.
I still haven't seen any hummingbirds but if they tried to get to the feeder, they would get seasick, swinging in the wind. It is still blowing like crazy here. Today is only in the 60's and it is not as humid as it has been lately though.
But before we know it, all our time will be spent outside playing with plants and lots of yard work. So don't forget to take time to smell the roses. Thanks for being my friend!
