Somewhere in Time, Gone With the Wind, all of the Jane Austen movies--I love a good love story and one with a beautiful score is a treasure. I have a hand-written note from Michael Kamen who wrote the score to Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner. I also love science fiction and was a huge Trek fan as well as Babylon 5 and all of the Stargate series. Movies today tend to be too violent and horror filled for me.

I have to have music where ever I go and what is on my stereo at any given time may be anything from country to opera. At present, I am listening to mostly Il Divo and Josh Groban. I watch the telent searches like Nashville Star and American Idol. This year Idol has the best singers they've ever had (IMO.) I hope that one of the Davids wins!

Ever since I've gone into trifocals, I've almost stopped reading all together. I listen to audio books when I'm driving--the most recent one being one of the Harry Potter books. I am an avid reader of a whole plethora of magazines. They are faster and I can squeeze one into a few minutes and then be on my way. I was an avid reader as a child and my hosue is full of books, but they are mostly about gardening and home decorating.

In nature, I love the greens of the forest and the blues of the water. Inside, I like the lime and avocado shades of green, and all the shades of pink through bright red. I don't think there is any color that I truly dislike.

I am allergic to beef, tomatoes and cheese, so it seems crazy to say that my favorite foods are primarily Mexican and Italian--composed primarily of beef, tomatoes and cheese! I have aleady confessed my addiction to Coke Classic,and I also have a strong affection for Tillamook's Oregon Strawberry Ice Cream! I eat tons of fish, chicken and salad stuff. I love to crunch when I munch.

I am a child of the depression--a Sagittarius who is not very much like the person the books say I should be. I taught for a lifetime in the elementary schools of Oregon and Alaska. I lost my husband when he was only 55 and I have learned to live alone and be self-sufficient. My only son wants me to move to California so that he can care for me when the fragile days come, but it is going to be hard to divest myself of all the stuff that makes me Me.

I appreciate kindness and compassion in people. I admire courage and bravery because I think they are lacking in me. I like people who will take responsibility for what they have done, and I respect those who care as much about poor people as they do about celebrities.

I abhor violence and cruelty, whether it be to animals or our fellow man. I hate to see dogs tied to chains or ropes in yards, left to live lonely lives. Dogs are pack animals--without company, they are as lonely as we would be without human contact. I am afraid to walk on city streets after dark--I regret the loss of our safety and peace of mind. Oh. And I don't like the New York Yankees or the noise they call RAP!

I love dogs, and have had at least one for the last 50 years of my life--presently a 5 lb. Toy Poodle named Miss Bitsy. I am addicted to Coke Classic and the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks! I am also on the computer too many hours of the night. Sigh.
