Good Morning my friends...The back of my property looks like a used truck lot..My oldest son lost his business because of the economy...He had to shut the doors because he was continuing to loose money...It took him 20 yrs. to build that business..Shutting down a business causes all kinds of legal problems...He is a sub-contractor with the housing contractors..If they don't build houses, he has no work...He had to start laying off people last Dec. and continued to do so a few at a time all this year...Housing contractors owe him money, they want pay, can't.. So therefore, he could not pay his bills...He did have 22 trucks, for his business, now he is down to 10 that is parked on the back of my property..He sold most of the others plus a lot of his equipment...He had around 35 to 40 employees...Now all those people are out of work...It sure is a sad situation, this economy of ours...He's 47 now and wondering, what now...He has filed leans on the houses that contractors owe him money for his work and materials...This means he will have to be paid before the houses can be sold...This is where all this legal mess comes in..It gives you a little glimpse into what the depression in the 30's was like...People loosing everything they had...He is pretty close to that right now...You would not think this could happen to someone that netted 2 million $ last year...Of course he did not gross anything like that...It just sorta hit like "Boom" in Charlotte North Carolina..No one ever believed it would get this bad..Almost a year of doing very little business can bring a person to the point he is at right now....I just thank the Lord that I have the 3 acres that I do, so he could put all his things here that have not sold yet...The business he had was called "All Supply"...He installed vinyl & wooden shelving in closets, did all kinds of custom mirror work, built custom shower doors, installed interior & exterior locks, sold doors & windows to contractors, and all sorts of bathroom hardware (towel bars, toilet tissue holders) what ever the contractors wanted put in the houses...I really hurt for him..He said he saw some of this coming last year and started using up his inventory, but no one ever thought it would go this far...I think it will continue to get worse at least for the next 6 months to a year.. You used to see a lot of ads in the newspapers for jobs, now you see very few...He said that housing contractors were dropping like flies, in Charlotte..They have houses they have built and now can't sell them..His business was in Charlotte North Carolina.. It's a beautiful sunny fall day here in North Carolina..We've been having temps around 75 for the last 7 days..Now, they are going to drop off to the 60's for highs, which is our normal temps for this time of year.....I sure hope all of you will have a beautiful day like it is here in NC....Sonjia-BikerChick

I've been going crazy trying to find all the information that I can about tank vs tankless water heaters. I have a rental property, and in between renters, I found a problem with the water heater while cleaning the house. Here's the problem. The water heater is the type that is visible in the kitchen. Up until now, the water heat has been a table top. Table top water heater is a tank that is enclosed in a nice metal cabinet because it is visible. They used to cost aroung $300.00. Now, this water heater has gone to $619.00 plus about $200.00 to install, with only 6 yr. warrentry. The reason I only have one brand to get it from is because of space. This particular brand is 24" wide and that is all the space that I have. All other brands are 25" wide. The company has you over a barrel because, there is no way you can make this space larger. The space is between a cabinet and the wall. So, I have been all over the Internet trying to decide what to do. I'm leaning toward going with a tankless water heater. I've talked to an electrician about rewriring and plumbers about installing. The electrician is from my church and will give me a discount on the electrical part. It just seems that I can't get a plumber to give me all the information I'm seeking about a tankless water heater. What I'ed like to know is, have any of you used a tankless, whole house, water heater and your thoughts about it. Sonjia-BikerChick
