Just turned the radio!!!! up to hear the weather forecast and aside from all the "rain" we are going to have the announcer said that Vernon had had 17 snowfalls !!! That must be a record??? And winter has barely begun!! You folks must do a heck of a lot of shovelling!!

Hello. Hope you had a great welcome to the New Year! It is for sure the first of January, and it is -29C out there, so I am keeping nice and warm INSIDE!! We will now have a few dark and dreary days ahead. It makes us LOVE sunshine lol.
Had a really nice New Year - quiet New Year's Eve, with my cousin and her hubby coming over. New Year's day my son, daughter and their families arrived, and we had a great time. That is, FOR SURE, the way to start the New Year.
I am tired today, so taking it easy, even THOUGH I have on my runners! lol
I must admit I'm glad the whole thing is over. It just seems to get more and more frenzied, either that or I'm getting older and older.....Not that I am of course!!
I have 5 hrs of taped TV to watch and I guess I'd better get on with it. I don't watch that much TV but I got hooked on General Hospital when my husband retired and still watch it. I say hooked then because they were taping in Victoria at the time and my husband (who had just retired) wanted to see how they would incorporate where they had filmed. It was a riot!!! One wouldn't recognize a certain place unless one knew exactly where it was!!! Anyway, he got hooked and so did I...
I also watch DWTS and Survivor and that's about it. I've probably told you all this before???

Hi Jan, Hope you had a joyful ending of the old year and that 2009 starts out fine. It's sunny here and I'm having a nice cup of tea after our walk. This is how my evening went
We got the New Year off to a good start by taking the kayaks out for a short paddle. The weather is supposed to be a bit rough later on, but it was beautiful when we were out there. Didn't try to do too much as it has been a while.
I hope 2009 will be filled with nothing but good things and happy times for you and your husband. Thank you for your friendship and I look forward to more of your nice, chatty messages once things settle down after the holidays.
