2014*1*30*Thursday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS
Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get your butts in here and grab some coffee... Hate to mention this but I did trip over my own ego... In fact, several of us here in the mountains and valleys, tripped. Now, y'all know that I have back-up heatt, propane for emergencies only. Well, that helped some. We planned for the elec to be off... no problem. What I didn't figure on was the furnace breakdown when the temps were a minus 12 degrees..twice in one week.I finally had to say the 'hell' with the elec bill and turned the elec oven on in the kitchen. I should have done it sooner but I didn't.
I don't ever remember ever being sooooooo cold. I called and tried to get the propane topped off. Couldn't until I was able to give the % in 100 gal tank. Propane rationed! Those out/in greater need would get first service. I have no problem with that. However, I did have a small problem with trekking out the front door on the very icy sloping east side of the house! I took the downhill route by going between the house and the shrubs. 20% in the tank!
OK, so I start the uphill trek. MG! It was cold out there. Get to the top and start toward the front door. Well, I got caught by my trash collector, who is also a good neighbor. He stops, yells 'what are you doing out here?' Freezing! I explain. He grabs me by the arm and drags me to the front porch. Points out the ice on steps...still scolding me! The more I thot about the scolding, the funnier it was. Gets me to the door and almost shoves me into the living room. I'd already told him I'd called the repair about furnace. Said he would come back and get me if there was any delay on the furnace.
And then there's the Anna! Oh good heavens! She called and checked on me several times a day. I told her I was fine... and I was sort of! lolol She wanted to come get me... Nope, I was/am determined to stay here. Mainly because of the animals. I will not leave my critters! Well, yesterday, she told me she would call Kelly, the high Sheriff. She would have him come out, arrest and take me to jail! lololol I do believe they would both do the above! Tomorrow, I will explain why I didn't call repair service sooner. (This is one of those good news/bad news items.) And then there's the Grasscutter.
Anyhow, that's it for now. Go in safety all of mine. Remember that sometimes even the good neighbors will give paybacks... if you get my drift.
Many hugs, much love and lots of lafter even.. meems, the TerMOMinator 2014*1*30*Thursday EMOM'S MOUNTAIN NEWS Welcome home, dear hearts, welcome home. Get your butts in here and grab some coffee...
