Do you remember me writing about my dog Sheba ?
Posted On 03/28/2016 08:42:36

I did actually write a blog two days ago...It seemed to be received and was there when I clicked "Submit Blog"   , but by the very next day it was not there ...I have just realised ,that perhaps it was because I had forgotten to enter a BLOG TITLE.....So I will try again.

I dio not often get to join you all on the Hill..Stupid, because I do often have time on my hands ....Sooo!

Do any of you remember me writing blogs about my lovely doggy Sheba ?     March 30th marks the 5th anniversary of her passing into doggy spirit world.. I still misss her everyday presence , and in fact do not go to bed at night until I have patted ther little box that contain her ashes , and say "Goodnight". But I did have her beloved company for the 15 years of her earthly life, and we did each share love for one another.

My wonderful children saw my unhappiness, and bought me a new companion...NO ! Not another doggy, for they knew that I was not then able to walk as far as I had done with Sheba.....They presented me with a little Budgie...a boy....who I named Baby......"You will hve such great fun teaching him to speak and to whistle " said my children......Baby is now almost three years old...and does he speak ?

NO!NO!....Not a dicky bird, {Cockney rhyming slang for word, If any of you do not know}. Whistle ?  NOT the wolf whistles I am constantly trying with him......However...He chirps and sings beautifully all day long, and it is a precious joy to watch him play with his toys and wheels... A realy hgappy little birdy.

He will fly out from his cage onto my hand , and there will peck happily at the spray millet I am holding.   He allows me to put my face {which must seem like a giant's face to him} to within just centimeters from his head. Will allow a quick kiss, and then will  fly back on the top of the cage.

I am getting to the stage when I can play with him as he spins his Ferris wheel , and slowly to be able to stroke his feathered tummy....This for only a second or two...but it is progress, and trust.

The only thing is, that I tried to take him for a walk the other day, for I still have Sheba's collar...But do you know he kept slipping out of it .. So walking him is useless.

I do hope that you who celebrate Easter had an enjoyable weekend.... I hope to be back soon.

Fondest wishes to you all.. Gerry

It has been quite a while since I climbed up the Hill. So long that I have quite forgotten  just where I should post this. And so I hope that it is read by you all.        Today is my 83rd birthday, and I give thanks to Sophisticat..Kiwibarb...Refid....Homeboy...Keejac...Greenputter...Mouse and Paraspet, for the greetings sent to me....I used to visit the Hill so frequently a couple of years back to speak about my lovely doggy friend Sheba.    Since she passed into doggy spirit my journies up the Hill  have diminished.....But then... I do not have her to pull me up the Hill.   Neverthe less you are not forgotten, and again I thank you all for taking time to wish me Happy Birthday......May G-D bless you all..
