My heroes are: my son, who has dealt with not only the problems of his family, but also his own hardships over the past year and has done so with resolve and dignity and makes me prouder of him every day. Also, the doctors and , most certainly, the nurses who work so hard for far too little money treating cancer patients and making the ordeal that is chemotherapy as comfortable and manageable a situation as they can with patience and and compassion. And a lovely woman whom I have known for three years and have seen deal with some of the worst situations you can imagine and dig herself out of a terrible hole,finding the courage, dignity and strength to make a better life for herself and her children.*************************************************************************** *************************************************************************** *************************************************************************** **************************************

I am known on MYSPACE as Rick...my page has been, for 5 years there, been THE ABSENCE OF DEATH: A CONTEMPORARY VAMPIRE NOVEL. I have 36, 100 friends there, but, as many know, the site is undergoing drastic changes and many, like myself, are frustrated and looking for a new home. I hope I have found it here, can save my page and bring others with me, plus meet new people here. I am happily involved in aloving relationship and not looking for romance. I write about vampires and other things that go bump in the night, but I am a pretty normal, average, down-to-earth guy..a proud father and not looking to bother anybody. I am the author of THE ABSENCE OF DEATH...a sweet little contemporary novel of death, vampire violence and seduction in a small town. It is being completed and I hope it will be appearing soon in a bookstore near you. I would love to meet anyone interested in my book, in writing or in vampires in general. Yes, this is Rick and this is the return of my former page, THE ABSENCE OF DEATH: A MODERN VAMPIRE NOVEL. Many people will, at least I hope, remember my former page. I was forced to delete it because of MYSPACE drama and foolishness, some of it my own doing. I lost focus back then, drifted from the original purpose of the page, which was..and is..to promote my writing and my (hopefully) soon-to-be-finished-and-published novel. I had so many friends here, including a group of loyal people who read and commented on all my blogs and postings. I hope to find...or be found by...most of you/them again. I have saved many of my blogs from before and will be adding them here gradually, as time and health allow. In the interest of honesty and full disclosure, I am fighting an illness right now and will not be here every single day, at least I don't think so and at least not for a while. I won't bore you with details. That is my problem, just as it is with any others facing such challenges. I only mention it as a pre-emptive explanation for any who would send angry letters saying, "you don't comment every day".I will post and leave comments as I can, maybe once or twice a week. So if that bothers you, well, you know what to do.
I am here to promote my book and writings, not for drama or MYSPACE nonsense..not this time. I will reply to personal comments about my writing and postings, of course, because that is, after all, why I am here. All are welcome and I hope you will read and enjoy my work. Some I especially hope will return here. And a few will NEVER be allowed here. You know who you are, I know how you are so don't even bother. Hopefully, you will have the decency not to embarrass either yourself or me.
So here I am one more time. Still finishing my lovely little tale of Vampirism and mayhem in a small town somewhere in America. But then all good things take time, don't they? I hope you will join me here, read my work and comment. I thrive on the feedback and have really missed it.
On a personal note, this page will always honor the memory of my friend, BLOODBATH. I wish I could add your page, sweet Misty, but that is impossible. I am sorry my leaving caused me to lose your page, but though you are gone, you are not forgotten.
