I'm not a movie buff. I'd much rather read.

Rock n Roll oldies...Otis Redding's "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay" is my all time favorite, followed by "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells. I love southern gospel as well as the old Black American spirituals. Some of the country music suits me too. It would almost have to since I am from the same area as such artists as Loretta Lynn, Patty Loveless, Keith Whitley, and Ricky Skaggs.

Almost anything by Appalachian authors...especially my friend, Lee Smith and acquaintance, Sharyn McCrumb. Also books by Jude Deveruaux, Fern Michaels, Nora Roberts, Debbie Macomber, Curtiss Ann Matlock, Carla Neggers, Barbara Delinsky, Dorothy Garlock and just about any Christian romance I can find. Oh, did I mention cookbooks? I can never get enough cookbooks!

Most shades of green, but sage in particular. I'm not sure if my love of green derives from my Cherokee or my Irish ancestry. Probably a bit of both.

Chicken Pasta Alfredo with lots of broccoli and other veggies thrown in. I have to have lots of ice cold sweet tea with that.

I was born a tomboy in the mountains of eastern Kentucky, to a teacher mom and a land agent dad. My only brother and I grew up roaming the hills and hollows freely, slashing off slabs of bacon from the smokehouse to fry along with potatoes in Dad's old camp skillet and dining alfresco on top of a rock cliff or by a fresh mountain stream.

I got my primary education in a one room school and then went away to a boarding school. There followed a brief encounter with college before marrying a coal miner. Thirty-three years and one son later we are still plugging along together.

Cats, cats and more cats! Newborn lambs and fuzzy puppies, cooking for people who are not picky eaters.

People with negative attitudes and people with superior attitudes, vulgar language and images.

Reading...give me a good book and a fuzzy throw and I'm in heaven, writing about Appalachia...sold my first story to a magazine for $5 when I was only 13. I love oooking for family and friends, traveling when my health will allow it, petting the Dorper lambs and Great Pyrenees dogs on our sheep farm, communicating with online friends, and playing with Paint Shop Pro.
