A New Year.2020
Posted On 01/01/2020 12:11:11

2020... it's here...I immediately thought of *seeing things ahead in clear vision*.  Sometimes life can get foggy, thus allowing one to become consumed by bad things that happened. My wish is that the foggy moments, and they will come, will quickly lift one up, and remind us all, we can begin anew..no matter the date on the calendar.

Though I do have mixed feelings about New Years resolutions. For most of us, they are all the same; this year I'm really going to start eating healthier, lose 20 pounds, get a better job or make more money, etc. While I believe it's good to set personal goals and strive to learn and grow, I sometimes wonder if setting these resolutions isn't just a set up for failure. Even worse, one we often expect to fail so we easily let ourselves off the hook for them anyway.

Maybe a change of perspective is what is needed, just thinking about the process a little differently. This year I decided to think less about my usual goals and concentrate on two important and powerful things, reflection and intention.

Looking back on this year felt like a perfect place to start. So much has happened, things have not always been easy or perfect but some real reflection helped me to realize all the wonderful things that did happen, what worked and did go right and how those events make me feel, leading me further toward the kind of life I want to live.

Never underestimate the power of our intentions. If we are what we think and believe, than our attitude and the purpose behind what we do and how we live matters more than anything. To me, this is what can make or break any aspirations we have. It's one thing to say we want to start really dedicating ourselves to exercising, or finding ways to  help out in our community, but without the honest intention behind it, it's easy to let things slip to the bottom of our priority list....  or fall off completely, like another unfulfilled New Years resolution.

“Every morning, when we wake up, we have been given a new day, another opportunity to begin anew. What a precious gift! We have the capacity to live in a way that these twenty-four hours will bring peace, joy and happiness to ourselves and others.”

The New Years holiday is a great, universal reminder but any day can be a chance for us to think about where we are headed and how we are living, to see if things need to change and decided to do better.

Today, (or any day you choose), why not reflect on what you loved about the past year, all that you accomplished and where you are today? Think about your true intentions going forward on the life you want to create - and then let go! Be honest and stay open to the greatness that unfolds around you throughout the year.

I enter the New Year with the understanding that I am making a fresh start. I begin by discarding thoughts, attitudes, and habits that are not compatible with a wondrous life. I let go of whatever caused past discouragement, disappointment, or disagreement. I know that seemingly..negative outcomes are desires or goals that are yet to be fulfilled. I will remain open and receptive to new ideas, activities and relationships.

Each day, I can follow a fresh plan of fulfillment. I can act on divine ideas that come in moments of prayer and inspiration. These ideas flow through wholesome, positive thoughts. Therefore, I enter this New Year with optimism, joy and enthusiasm.

Happy New Year- Lisa

Gracefully Broken

❤️Gracefully Broken!

I was in Dollar Tree last night, and there was a lady and two kids behind me in the LONG line. One was a big kid, and the other one was a toddler. The bigger one had a pack of glow sticks, and the toddler was screaming for them. The Mom opened the pack and gave him one which stopped his tears. He walked around with it smiling; but then the bigger boy took it, and the toddler started screaming again. Just as the Mom was about to fuss, the older child bent the glow stick and handed it back to the toddler. As we walked outside at the same time, the toddler noticed that the stick was now glowing; and his brother said, "I had to break it so that you could get the full effect from it."

I almost ran, because l could hear God saying to me, "I had to break you to show you why I created you. You had to go through it so you could fulfill your purpose."

That precious child was happy just swinging that "unbroken" glow stick around in the air, because he didn't understand what it was created to do - which was "glow".

There are some people who will be content just "being," but some of us that God has chosen... we have to be "broken."

We have to get sick.
We have to lose a job.
We go through a divorce.
We have to bury our spouse, parents, best friend, or our child...

In those moments of desperation, God is breaking us. But... when the breaking is done, then we will be able to see the reason for which we were created. So when you see us glowing, just know that we have been broken but healed by His Grace and Mercy!!! 💛
