It was 18ยบ when I got up. The leaves are tumbling from trees this morning. Guess they're convinced cold is here for awhile. Have a super day, dear Shirley. All is well here. Thanks for asking:) *hugs* -di
Good day & hope the week is doing fine even if you have snow & cold. Really got cold here but going to warm up a little. The wind was cold & blowing hard when I was at the school crossing yesterday but I was bundled up good which helped. Planning on putting up Christmas decorations this weekend as the wife is going in Tuesday for right knee replacement & will be laid up for a time. Enjoy the rest of the week my friend & take care.........George
It is a chilly day at my house. Rained all morning and the temps have been dropping. Good day to just burrow under a blanket and read or craft. Which I intend to do as soon as I get my household work completed. Hope you are having a wonderful day, rain or shine!
Hope your car comes in quickly since you can't get in the old one very well anymore. And Seth will love it, like you;) Thanks for lovely Veterans Day comment. Love 'n *hugs* -di
SWEETIE, SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER. I WILL BE PRAYING FOR HER. WE KNOW GOD IS ABLE TO DO ALL THINGS. PRAYING FOR YOU AND HUBBY FOR STRENGTH. I KNOW IT'S HARD ON YOU. SENDING YOU LOTS OF LOVE AND PRAYERS, SHIRLEY
Hello Shirley so sorry to hear you are in so much pain.***Finally I got background picture on my page. *** I won't be on the hill to much anymore. My daughter who is 59 has lung cancer. Then they found 3 lesions on her brain. They removed 2. The third will have to be removed by targeted laser. She has her room mate who is now her caregiver--Cindy. Cindy works so Mike and I stay with daughter Laura until Cindy gets home from work. When time for her to have chemo we will be taking her. But I will be thinking of you and praying for you. ***Seems like there is a lot of the pain and hip pain going on. A woman that goes to our church got so bad with pain in legs and feet she is in hospital. She may have to have physical theraphy. *** So dear friend praying your pain leaves you. Take care. Hjugs and love Helen
World War I In 1918, at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the 'war to end all wars' finally ended. Germany and the Allies signed a temporary ceasefire, or armistice. This anniversary was known as Armistice Day until 1954, when the federal holiday was renamed Veterans Day. World War II veteran Raymond Weeks organized the first 'National Veterans Day' in 1947 in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. He also wrote a letter and personally delivered his petition for a renamed national holiday to then-Army Chief of Staff, General Dwight Eisenhower. But the holiday remained known as Armistice Day until the early 1950s, when Alvin King, a shoe salesman from Emporia, Kansas, sought to change the name of his local celebration to Veterans Day. King, who had lost his nephew in World War II, wanted to expand the scope of the observance to honor all war veterans, not just those of World War I. His US congressman took the idea to Washington, DC, and quickly got the support of Eisenhower, who in the intervening years had been elected president. On June 1, 1954, it became official: November 11 would be known as Veterans Day. Veterans make up 11.9 percent of Alaska residents, the highest percentage of any US state, according to data from 2017. In terms of raw numbers, California tops the list, with more than 1.8 million veterans living there. Nationwide, 7 percent of US adults were veterans in 2017, down from 18 percent in 1980, according to the Census Bureau.
PLEASE SAY A PRAY FOR OUR VETERANES AND SAY THANK YOU.HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD NEW WEEK WITH LOTS OF SMILS AND HAPPINESS MY FRIEND. LOVE N HUGS WITH BLESSINGS ALWAYS MARGE

Hello my friend, I just wanted to let you know that my pet scan came back no cancer. Praise God. They want to keep a close check on me because the cancer was so deep. So they scheduled an appointment for 4 months to see the dermatologist. Of course, you know what that means!!! lol lol... There will be a lady assistant with him and I said can she do the exam and they said NO!!... lol lol lol... I am not looking forward to that. Went to my family doctor yesterday and he changed some of my medicine. Hoping I feel better. I was taking a blood pressure pill that was making me so sick. I am in a lot of pain with my hip and leg. Could hardly walk today. The doctor ordered me a strong pain pill. The mild pain pills don't touch it. It is so bitterly cold too and that doesn't help.
My son got a 2018 Ford Escape. He needed a car so bad. it is just beautiful. Just like brand new. We are thinking of getting one too. They didn't have what Eddie liked so we will wait to see what they get in. Also, we are praying about it. We want what the Lord wants us to have.
Wishing you a really nice today, and restful evening, too. Have y'all decided on a car yet? That's fun... getting a new one. I'm sure you're having cold weather now, and maybe even snow coming:) I can almost feel the chill coming off your lake! You and kitty stay warm, friend. Love 'n hugs to you both, and DH, too! -di *hugs* -di
