Sharing Personal Information

Sharing Personal Information:  I wanted to give you all a reminder that sometimes people are not who they seem, and may try to befriend you or flatter you, and try to get you to give them your personal email, or more. I hope you will all take this very seriously; unfortunately, that is the reality of the web and social sites.

If someone is asking for your private information, tell them NO. If they persist, tell me - contact me by private message or by using any of the contact us links found on the bottom of each page.

Alarms should be someone who coincidentally starts having much in common with you, both privately and religiously. When someone starts calling you dear, sweetie, and other terms of endearment, and "confide" in you, those are warning signs. I have been on the web since the early 1990s and have seen it all.

If you are sharing site personal messages and comments back and forth on the Hill, you are safe. The other members cannot get your personal information unless you choose to share your personal email/address/phone. Private information like this on the Hill is confidential and not accessible by another member.  If you think someone is trying to deceive you, or has bad intentions, let me know and I will watch for any violations of Terms here.

If you have given your personal email to someone, and you are concerned, change your email address.

And if I find anyone messing with anyone on this site, you can bet I will get all the information I can and I will bring in the proper authorities.

Personal security should always be uppermost in our minds.  Thank you Darcy for caring so much and watching out for us.  Personally I use the term 'Luv or Luvs' often .. similar to dear or sweety ... that's just me.  I'm among the safe people too ...

Thanks Darcy,
Additional security is most welcome.
