Is always nice to hear from you. I see you done away with your candy cane page. It was so cute! This one is more sophistocated, but the other one was cute. lol. Hope that makes sense.
Christmas day is a bit sad to me because I know by then it's all over with. To me, the best part of Christmas are the weeks building up to it starting with the weekend after Thanksgiving. There is so much excitement in the air and yes, even some magic! I have always thought the magic that one feels during the Christmas season is the spirit of St. Nicholas - the real one who lived in Germany hundreds of years ago, who loved making toys for all the children in the village. I have a feeling that his spirit is present during the season and possibly that could be where the magic feeling comes from. Hope that doesn't sound too crazy. Have you ever thought about this? I do get the 'after Christmas blues'. Everything feels so empty for weeks after. Also, when it's over, everything we waited for all summer like (fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas) are all gone, having to wait another year for it to all return again. I'm feeling a bit sad thinking about it :-) I enjoy chatting with you..
Take Care ... Christmas Blessings ... *hugs* Darlene
Good afternoon my friend. I hope you are having a good afternoon. Its a chilly one here and we have a good chance of rain tomorrow. We need the rain, but we have a funeral to go to tomorrow so I'm hoping it won't rain then. Not much going on here just doing some housework. That lovely everyday stuff. Well take care my friend and enjoy your day. Hugs, Cheryl
I do decorate with Christmas and wintry knick knacks. I have the soldiers on my entertainment center I leave up all year. That is one reason I picked the theme I did for Christmas. Other decorations were made by the kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. It's the most wonderful time of year!
Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmastime. ~Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867–1957)
Cardinal Burke saying Mass near my backyard. This is on the holyday. I was going to say it but the Cardinal wanted to do it. He is the one who lost his apartment in Vatican City where I wanted to rent it now.
