Thinking how grateful I am for: the 4 seasons I enjoy, the birds & small critters that I feed, the nearby marsh & lake I love to gaze at, the bounty of the patio herb gardens I grow & God's hand in it all. đ°
Hi there. Its a warm and humid afternoon here. We had a very noisy, windy and rainy storm come thru here at 4:45 this morning. It even woke up Tony and that usually doesn't happen. How was your weekend? Mine was okay. Didn't do much. Went and saw Trey this morning. He is doing good. He isn't getting around much but he still can't do much with his leg for at least a month. Then hopefully he will be able to do physical therapy. Well take care my friend and enjoy your afternoon and evening. Hugs, Cheryl
Hello Paula, thank you! So glad you liked my page. Yours is looking so pretty too! I took the music player off mine recently and hope the code thing will work when i am ready to use it again. I use a code converter.
I do remember seeing a post from you about Dennis's ablation. So glad it went well for him and that it's been the key to getting him back on track. I know it was a big relief for you both and yes, he sounds like his experience was comparable to my brother's, who also had it done. He was able to return to work in a few weeks but had to stop doing the bow stringing as that takes tremendous pressure from your chest and arm muscles. (He works at Bass Pro Shop/Cablela's) and is an archery technician.
I don't think I knew you were of Scottish ancestry. How neat! I love learning about that kind of thing. I completed a DNA test kit the first of this year and it was so much fun to learn more of my ancestry details. The kit was a gift and I had been wanting to do it since they first invented them. I couldn't justify spending the money on them so it really made a perfect gift for me. Just so you know, if you ever delve further in to it. The results don't narrow your ancestry by country and I wish they did. For example, mine was 100 percent European descent but it showed 85% British and Irish, (it lumps these together) 7.8 French and German, 1% Scandanavian, and so on. If you ever can do it though, I highly recommend it! It showed the places in Ireland my ancestors most likely came from. Dublin and County Cork being 2 of them. Well dang it, we both missed the Northern Lights then. I did know they were supposed to occur but had listened to a meterologist who postulated (my new fav word, haha) that we would not see them this far south. Lo and behold the next day my Facebook feed is flooded with pics of friends and family all around me who saw and took beautiful photos of them. I never even went out to look that night! Anyway glad you had a safe trip there and back to see your family in Burlington. Hope all goes well with getting your mom settled in a facility and that she will be content there once she settles in. I know it's a huge adjustment. The new hens and rooster are doing well for the girls. They named the rooster Albus (as in Dumbledore) They are Harry Potter fans and named all the chickens accordingly. He is not agressive towards humans at all but pretty bossy towards the hen and has plucked some of their feathers out. They have outdoor cats as well but they coexist peacefully. My cats want to murder birds so I'm not sure if they'd do the same with chickens or not. Talk to you soon. Have a good new week!
Don't chase the butterflies: tend to your garden & the butterflies will come to you. (although I must say my plants have had enough rain-some sunshine please!)đĻ
Hi there. I hope you are having a good Friday. Mine has been a busy one. We have a Wedding to go to tomorrow evening, and tonight we got to the Rehearsal. This is Tony's sister that is getting married tomorrow. I made a casserole to take tomorrow for after the wedding. Then I went to Walmart and got the things we needed. Then on Sunday afternoon we will be going to the cemetaries to decorate the graves. So a busy weekend for us. The wedding is going to be outside and it supposed to get up to 90* and be windy. At least I'm wearing a dress so it won't be to bad. My dress is white with pink roses on it. I'm going to be at the table where everyone signs their name at the guestbook and then I will be either serving punch or cutting cake. Well have a great weekend my friend and take care. Hugs, Cheryl
Good afternoon to you. Its a beautiful day here. Just got back a little while ago from getting my hair permed. It feels so good. It looks shorter now from the perm, but it will grow. How has your day been? Mine has been slow.Didn't go and see Trey today as I had things to do. He has a doctor appoinment tomorrow after he gets a x-ray done on his leg. I'm hoping everything looks okay. He will have surgery on the 29th to get that fixator taken off of his leg. And of course I will be there to support his wife while he is in surgery. Not much else going on. Take care and enjoy the rest of your day. Hugs, Cheryl
Good afternoon. Sorry that I haven't been on here much lately. I go up and spend time with my son, Trey, in the mornings and usually get home around 2:30 in the afternoon. He is doing good. He will get that fixator off of his leg on May 29th. Then he has to learn to walk again. He is nervous about that. Its a warm day here today. Its 88*. We have some chances for rain tomorrow and Thursday. Hopefully just rain and no high winds or hail. Well take care my friend and have a nice rest of your day. Hugs, Cheryl
Instead of posting a good night picture comment I thought I would share something more personal. Most of you know how My Mother In Law stayed with me for a couple months because she was no longer able to be in her home..She has dementia but I am not sure what level she is..For her its been sundowners ..that is when she see's people that are not there and people take her things when in reality she moves them and doens't remember where she put them..I was going to her home for a long time making sure she was alright...But when she fell the last time that was it..she had to come here..We found a nice place for her and it was a difficult decesion but it has worked out soooo well...She can still walk around and talk to people..showers on her own and eats really well...she doesnt use a walker (yet) and is actully loving it there..she does the activites..ya know..Bingo..lol..and they have womens day where they get their nails done...musicians come in..We went to see her on Saturday ( I go every week at least once)and my daughter went as well...It was a mothers day thing but it was mostly the residents and they were a hoot...I laughed so hard at them...its not hard to fall in love with them ( I am sure it would be difficult if they get mean which some can) We sold her home which was a blessing because there are funds to keep her there...to be cared for 24/7 She is 89 and keeps telling me she is 92..when I tell her her real age she says if you say so...lol..Anyways this is my long comment tonight with a picture of her and my daughter Sharon..( my daughter like most of us would say about our daughters has a heart of gold.) Hope you all had a nice day and wake tomorrow feeling well and ready to take on a new day..Good Night
In for more storms as are many across the US. But it's cold today, around 50F (10C) where it was 80F (27C) yesterday. Thankful this Thursday for your friendship Paula!đĻŠ
Hi there. Its a beautiful afternoon here. We had a cool front come through last night or early this morning. Its a sunny day, hardly any breeze and in the low 70's. My kind of weather. Birds are singing in the trees and I saw a couple of butterflies. I hope you are having a good afternoon. Take care my friend, hugs, Cheryl
How are you faring today? Got my little fairy garden planted. Freya stopped by for her daily peanut fix. A line of wicked storms is headed to Wonderland. Hope they lose some of their punch by the time they reach me.đ¸
I may have slowed down a lot since my 2018 retirement, but now home is a place of comfort to enjoy & not a pitstop where I eat & sleep. Hope your week is off to a great start Paula! đļ
Rainy day here but it's good for the wildflowers I planted on the hill as well as the herbs growing or newly planted in patio pots. Have a wonderful weekend!đŋ
Hello to May! Didn't want to, but I turned on the A/C because the house temp got up to 82F (27C). Laughter heals; I hope something happens that makes you smile!đ
Good afternoon. I hope you are having a good one. Its a rather warm, 90* here today and hardly any wind. Just went out and changed my garden flag for a sunny yellow one. Tomorrow is a new month. Time sure does fly by anymore. Not much going on here today. Didn't feel well this morning but I'm fine now. Don't know what the problem was this morning. Well take care my friend and enjoy the rest of your day. Many hugs to you, Cheryl.
