good morning Lisa, yep same here. Wild, windy stormy day and my house was getting cold by the time power came back on. It sure felt better after that heat cut on. Has your rain soaked in yet? Our ditches were running like a river. Sun is out now and I couldn't be more pleased. Happy Wednesday.
Good morning. The storm seems to be done and it was not as bad as the prediction. I suppose about 5 inches. The real problem is coming this weekend. It is going to be a high of zero on Sunday, it will reach a -12° F. I am not ready for this. To make matters worse, Saturday I am planning on attending a funeral. I might actually not go as I have the car in the garage, however, I have to go to church in the afternoon and I hate walking there when it is below zero. I managed to get my hand with the splint into a glove to do some shoveling. Fortunately I had kept an old pair of gloves that most people would have thrown away. In either case, welcome winter. I should not complain too much as it has been a mild winter until now. It is the first time I used a shovel. The mailman became lazy as there were some cars parked by my neighbor's mailbox. He put all of her mail into my mailbox. There was no danger of it getting mixed up with my mail as I got no mail. I'm assuming he did not put my mail into someone else's mailbox. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Crazy weather day...flood and tornado warnings, but we survived. Three more inches of rain fell today..more on Friday.
so glad you are okay Bud! My brother in North GA had awful storms and lost power. Said some brush fires were started from transformers blowing up. My sister in central Florida had a tornado watch too all day and here was a wind advisory and rain all day. They canceled the wind advisory for my area a few hours early thankfully. 3 inches of rain for you wow. Hope you can dry out some before Friday. Thank you for the pretty picture 🙂
Awww the snow missed us; light snow quickly turned to rain. We need those snow blankets to melt slowly during a spring thaw. Have yourself a terrific Tuesday, Lisa!☃️
We can not do this. The mailman comes with his vehicle and delivers from the vehicle. Of course, if I had a sidewalk, they would have the mailman walk the route....... but then I would be responsible for shoveling the whole sidewalk. If it was not for the tax forms, I would not shovel at all. I get no mail except advertisements, and....... it is 2024. Campaigning!

Good morning. About 31*. Looking out the window, about an inch of snow but snow due to start again at 4 am. I live in the city so hopefully the forecast of the extreme snow will be in the country. I have the car hidden in the garage for now. I was planning on going to a funeral on Saturday but it is going to be below zero F. I hate lifting the garage door to get the car in and out especially with the wrist healing up. I think I have become unwilling to do things with my years in seclusion. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
Hello Lisa, we had an inch and a half of rain Fri. night but cleared out early and Sat. was nice. Now it's gray, overcast and chilly as we wait on the storms they are forecasting as severe. Sure hope not. Have a good new week and stay warm.
Gosh there are times when I miss the sunshine so very much! Now rain and thunderstorms, I love them. But cloudy and dreary weather is not my thing.
Do you just like quiet time to sit and think? What do you think about or wonder about?
On a cloudy day you might not even be able to see each step in this winding staircase. There is not a room in our house that is dark even at night.
There is beauty all around us! I wonder where those steps lead? I am not a hiker but I love to take off in the car and just turn down a road to see where it goes.
Just about anyone who spends time with my hubby really loves to just sit and listen to his stories, mostly true, of his life. He has an awesome memory (he is awesome) and each story is an adventure!
One of my precious friends sent this recently and I love my quiet times saying prayers for each of my friends. Yes, I am thinking of you and sending you...
I await the snow. This always happens when I am waiting for the paperwork for my taxes. If it was not for that, I would not shovel until spring. What makes it bad this time, the splint on my wrist. If everyone could just live in the tropics of the Carolinas.
Good morning. Waiting for the snow storm. Supposedly midnight tonight until Wednesday. The word is 5 to 7 inches. The only thing concerning this writer is the splint on my wrist and not being able to put a glove on that hand over the splint. I would not even shovel unless the snow plow makes it difficult at the mailbox. I would not even be concerned over that if it was not tax season. HUMBUG! I am planning an excursion to Walmart for something in about two hours, give or take 42 seconds. Have a good day. Ciao for now and watch your wallet!
