It's a very quiet morning and temps are on the rise. We'll have a few days of warmer weather before we go back into the deep freeze. Time to get caught up with some odds and ends. Darc, I will be just picking up and straightening up and other odds and ends. May mop my bathroom and kitchen floors. Hope your Christmas was awesome and hope all your family with health problems are doing better or at least feeling better! I have a friend who was having leg problems and ended up in hospital. Discovered she had a blood clot that ran the whole length of her leg! No wonder she had so much pain and she was mighty fortunate! Kick back and enjoy your day! Good Morning Darci, I've had a busy few days with my son and his wife here from Texas. Abby is here too, visiting from MO and we have enjoyed her visit. Glad you had a good Christmas. What a glorious mess and chaos it is to have your house full of kids opening gifts and loved ones enoying each other. More rain on the way here and I'm still waiting for that lazy day. I love Princess Sassy Pants - glad to hear you had a great Christmas day - we were over to my sister's as her oldest daughter with her 3 kids came, and her youngest daughter and her son live there - wow what chaos with the 4 of them especially the two oldests boys!! Don't think they could tell you one thing they opened - it was tear open and move on to the next. All those kids are so spoiled getting gifts, from their parents, grandparents - step parents and grand parents. It's unreal! We were out today from doctor's appointments, to lunch out and visiting his sister and dog, we were worn out. Got back to the hotel and ate leftover Buffalo Wild Wings so we didn't want any didnner after that.
Don't know about you but I'm glad it's all over for another year. Have a great nite - glad your day was a relaxing one - we need that more and more as we age - oooops did I say that??
Happy day after Christmas. I hope yesterday was a good one for you and your family. We had a houseful of food, fun, and chaos and I always bask in that since it only happens a couple times a year. Today, I am breathing deeply and just doing what, if anything, I choose. So far I've divided up cookies and put some in the freezer. And I've washed dishes. That may be all I accomplish today. HAHA
Had a nice quiet day yesterday. Good turkey din-din. Friends came over Christmas Eve bringing all sorts of homemade cookies and candies - 'nuff to last till next year:) :) I'm with you. We should relax today. Just started heavy duty snowfall - so... rest definitely in order.
Darc, Sorry about all the struggles your family is going through wiht their health. I hope they do decide to go to assisted living. Takes a lot of pressure off you. And hope Dan can be at peace soon, one way or another. So sad. My neighbor Mary is the same way as Dave's mom. When I talk to her, it's repeat, repeat, repeat, sometimes more than once in a minute. It is wearing but like you said, I have to remind myself she can't help it. Don't know how long her family willl let her live alone. Hope you can rest today and enjoy the quiet. Love and Hugs, Nancy

Nanc, our trip up to see Dave's mom and her husband Saturday went ok but both Dot and Bob are really getting bad with their dementia. In different ways but bad just the same. So we had to have "the talk" about them moving into assisted living as soon as something becomes available. Dave's brother had to be moved to ICU Sunday morning and they have found he has sepsis and a staph infection. He asked to please be able to go home for his final hours/days and the plan was to take him home by ambulance today and bring in hospice. Haven't heard from anyone yet as to what's going on. My heart is heavy but I keep trying to remind myself that none of this is in my control and Dan knows he's going to heaven so why should I want him to stay here any longer than need be? He has suffered so much. Dave's mom called last night and was angry that no one has told her Dan is sick. Dave patiently told her that he's been battling cancer for years now and that she DID know but just forgets. A minute later, she's asking why no one has told her what;s happening with Dan. So it's wash, rinse, repeat. Makes one weary. I know she can't help it, that's not what I mean. It's just tiring.
Hoping your Christmas was joyful and blessed! Now on to getting ready for a Happy, Healthy, and Successful New Year. Darc, I stayed over at Tina's two nights and had so much fun. She made a nice dinner on the 24th and we munched on cheeseball and crackers and water chestnuts in the evening. Christmas morning was bright and clear - no snow but a beautiful day. Always fun watching Zach open gifts. Then the rest of the clan came around 4:00. Prime rib and shrimp was delicious. I did Christmas differently this year. They each got one gift they requested, a family gift, and $$$. They all seemed happy with that and so I will continue that way. Sure takes a lot of pressure off! I do miss shopping sometimes but always gets a little stressful trying to figure out what to get. So I just came home this morning. Stopped at Walmart for a few groceries. Have things to put away but not doing much today. Loving the peace and calm right now. Love and Hugs, Nancy

It's a rainy morning here and we are scheduled for more heavy rain this afternoon and evening. I will be staying indoors where it is warm and I can entertain myself by reading and drinking coffee.
THIS IS WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS THE BEST GIFT EVER FROM MY GRANDDAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND THEY GOT ME THE WHOLE SET OF LIGHTED CROCHET HOOKS AND 6 CANS OF DIFFERANT FLAVORS OF TEA YES I GOT OTHER THEINGS BUT THAT WAS THE BEST ONE.
