Cornish Coast

Cornish Coast

Waves crash against the cornish coast

Seagulls soaring above in flight

Round and round in circles they go

In search of food is their plight

Boats anchored in the harbour

Swaying to and fro

Protected shelter from the cove

When the wind doth blow

Cottages dotted on the hillside

Above the narrow streets

Aligned with quaint shops and cosy pubs

Where all the locals meet

Tired fishermen returning home

With their daily catch

Long day coming to an end

Release those wellies and woollen hats

Simply smashing image and verse Lynne!  I was, and always will be, a fan of the series Doc Martin; the Cornish Coast most divine too!

Lovely poem and photographs.

Great and glad you enjoyed the pics too, Di.  Martin is entirely different than his grumpy character.  When I was taking the photo of him and the dog, I asked him to smile.  So he said "I am smiling".  As you can see, the technician behind him had a grin on his face.  LOL

Thanks so much, Lynne! The pics are awesome. We watch Doc Martin every week on Ovation network... we're hooked. Love that you got a great shot of the "It's not my dog"! lol We've watched many BritTV series for years and love them. Thanks again!

Thanks, Wanda.  We stayed in that lovely little fishing village for a week, so got to see all the action.  It was fun and brings back fond memories.

Awesome photos! What a great day you had.

Here are some photos taken in Port Isaac, Cornwall where the long-running TV series "Doc Martin" was made.  Visited there some years back and they just happened to be filming.  The first photo is of my late sister Aileen and actor Martin Clunes.  The second one near the harbour is of the two of us and actor Ian McNeice.  The rest are self-explanatory.  The cast and crew were friendly so a nice experience.

A Lovely poem, Lynne and especially seeing the  Doc Martin filming. I like that show. Also, I imagined the sounds of the sea gulls, the boats and the slight rustling of the water. Thanks for sharing!

How cool Lynne. You got to see filming as it happened!

Aww thanks, Greg.  I took the photo in Port Isaac, Cornwall a few years ago.  This is the place in which the "Doc Martin" UK TV series was made.  My sister and I happened to be there while they were filming so got to see all the action.
