17 Years of Not Over The Hill

As of the 27th of this month, I will have been a member here for 17 years. This is so hard for me. Yesterday, I got an email from Admin about the Closure of Not Over The Hill. And I have to admit, I got teary. I know our active members will be as heartbroken as I am, even though I understand the reasons this is happening. To be honest, I can’t even imagine life without NOTH.

The first thing I do in the morning is come to NOTH and see what’s going on. I check to see if there are any new members & either ‘welcome’ them or delete the spammers. Then I check the general Forums to see who has posted in new threads.

I check to see if I have any messages or comments. On Friday, someone told me they had a friend who wanted to join NOTH. I didn’t respond, because I didn’t know what to say. I knew I had to wait until Admin posted the actual announcement.

Normally, after checking messages, I go to my groups. If I’ve finished a book, I then go to my Book group and post a review. If I’ve seen a really good tv show or movie, I go to that group and post about it.

Recently, I’ve been distracted with family medical problems; so I haven’t done much with designing my pages. I had left the two with musical videos on. But I had planned on re-doing them soon.

That’s the one thing that I could do here, but nowhere else! As you all know, I love making graphics–many with ‘greetings’ on them. I will try to make one last Greeting to say ‘good-bye’ to all of you.

I’ve really learned so much and had so much fun working with graphics here. The only other social site like this won’t let you use anything but pre-made layouts. And I’ve never liked that site for several reasons.

I’m going to miss all of you! Even if we aren’t actually ‘friends’ here, we’ve left comments back and forth. And we’ve interacted in groups. I feel like I know so many of you.

I just want to thank all of you for being here, and for taking time out of your busy lives to take part in this lovely site.

And I want to thank Eightball and TC for giving us so many years together. I will never forget Not Over The Hill.

PS–if you want my FB info, just send me a message. I’ve already posted that in my Bulletin. The same goes for the email address I’ve been using for NOTH. I hope that many of us will still keep in touch.

I'm so sad NOTH will be closed, a decent site that I admired so much.  Miss Altara you're so kind and very compassionate towards your members.  When I started joining this site You had been so helpful to my inquiries , I felt comfortable and always been  here even I'm in my clinic , I checked my page and the beautiful comments my dear friends sent to me. I enjoyed reading and their words of advice ispired me a lot.  I had met some beautiful and respectful  friends  I am so sad to leave them . :(

My prayers to all , may we met again . I wish you have a healthy and happy life together with your loved ones.  May God gives us a longer life and abundance in life. I will miss you all.

Sending you all my Hugs and Kisses,

Eunhye Grace

When you first got here I was still on Yahoo360. They closed too. I had never heard of the hill and it would some years later that I did. I want to thank you and all the friends I met here how wonderful the experience has been. Like you, first thing in the morning for me was get my first cup of coffee and log in here to send my early morning greetings. I can tell you though that the other site will let you design your own themes and I think you can do your graphics too. The other site also uses this software so I wonder if it will one day be gone. Maybe with an announcement and maybe not. I really do hope all of us who connected here will keep in touch one way or another.
