Gardening With Daddy
Posted On 04/29/2011 22:51:36 by kiwibarb
On the last day of October last year, I planted 5 sweetpea plants from a punnet, to replace a row of seeds that the wild birds had eaten. Today, the last day of April, I have pulled out all except one of these sweetpea plants. The last one is still flowering. I have had much enjoyment from these beautiful flowers, pink and dark pink, purple, blue and pale blue. I have kept seeds, but they're all mixed up. This reminds me of the school exercise we did when I was 11 years old. Children in my cl... Read More

I wrote this story several years ago. It is in ten parts and I'll try to get a new part posted every couple of days. I hope you enjoy reading it, and that you look forward to the next part being posted. David Part 1It started out being a cool fall day in October. I put on a wool coat with a sweater underneath. I love the feeling. It is still winter but soon there will be green grass and buds showing up and the early sunshine will shine down and warm the e... Read More

Posted On 03/02/2011 14:42:05 by Notgrnyyet

I came across my Daddy's hammer last week. Mamma had it in her apartment. When she moved to the Nursing home I asked her if I could have the hammer. Of course she said yes. There are so many memories in that old hammer. Someone gave Daddy a new hammer once. He took it and graciously thanked them like we were taught but Daddy never used his new hammer. I asked him why and he said that  his old  hammer and him had an understanding. “It fits my hand and aims straightâ€... Read More

I KNOW EVERYTHING!!

YOU DON”T KNOW IT ALL YET
Mamma told me many times over the years, “Clydene the older you get the faster time goes”. Boy oh boy was she ever right. But when things are going good that's when time seems to fly. Time only slows down when problems come up. When I was a kid I used to wait anxiously for some event and think it would never get there. When I was 12 I wanted to be a teenager. Boy Howdy I thought that would be the greatest thing. I figured that when I was a teenager I... Read More
