Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice

Okay, not really a "Blog" but a handy recipe for those of you who like the seasonal flavor of pumpkin spice. When shopping recently I noticed the store was out of pumpkin pie spice, a staple for this time of year. The price on the shelf though, was more than $5.00 for a small container!  It's got to be much cheaper to make it so here we go...

thanks Paula. Yes all the spices are outrageous it seems. Vanilla extract too.  I always have nutmeg on hand and the last time I made this I did use it.

Beth, I have made my own 'mix' before, but I would recommend using the nutmeg instead of the mace in the mix.  Not because of a taste preference, but have you tried to buy mace in a store lately?  It's really expensive stuff!  Thanks for sharing the recipe for the mix, though; mixing it up is like putting on the finest of perfumes--it smells so delicious!

Thanks Beth - There are some containers in the cabinet that have been there since who know when, so this recipe will surely come in handy.
